We're underway at Turf Moor.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Burnley and Leicester City at Turf Moor.
Leicester were stunned last time out in the Premier League by Southampton, losing 2-1 at home to the Saints. Dennis Praet had put the Foxes ahead, but Stuart Armstrong and Danny Ings found the net to condemn Brendan Rodgers' men to defeat. The club remain on course for a Champions League place, but have dropped below Manchester City into third in the table. Rodgers will be determined to battle all the way for second spot, with the race for the title all but over. The Foxes need to bounce back from their defeat to the Saints this afternoon.
BURNLEY (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Phil Bardsley, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Jeff Hendrick, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Dwight McNeil; Chris Wood, Jay Rodriguez.
BURNLEY SUBS: Matthew Lowton, Robbie Brady, Joe Hart, Erik Pieters, Aaron Lennon, Matej Vydra, Kevin Long.
LEICESTER CITY (4-1-4-1): Kasper Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, Christian Fuchs; Nampalys Mendy; Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: James Justin, Wes Morgan, Demarai Gray, Youri Tielemans, Marc Albrighton, Danny Ward, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Burnley are on a poor run of form in the Premier League, losing their last four matches on the bounce. The Clarets are sitting in 15th place in the table, only two points clear of the relegation zone. Sean Dyche is beginning to come under pressure for the standard of his side's performances, including their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea last time out. It makes a strong outing this afternoon imperative to try to swing momentum back in the favour of his team on his 300th league game in charge of the Clarets.
Sean Dyche was not happy with the decision when referee Anthony Taylor waved play on from Praet's tackle on Cork. VAR did not choose to overrule the call therefore it was not clear or obvious. Dyche has a massive challenge on his hands to get his team going in the second half. They've been lacklustre in the final third, but need solutions to their problems if they are to avoid another defeat in Dyche's 300th league game in charge of the club.
Burnley are next in action against Manchester United on Wednesday at Old Trafford. Leicester City host West Ham United on the same day.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
