And now Rodrigo goes close! An Embolo foul results in another free kick for Spain that causes plenty of problems for the visitors. The cross into the box is a good one and falls to Rodrigo, but the striker isn't quite able to make decent contact with the ball in front of goal.
90' +2
Another great chance for Nacho! This time the defender is able to latch onto a looping corner after rising high above his marker, but he mistimes his jump and fails to hit the target with his downward header.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
89'
S. Zuber gets yellow.
Nacho clips the post! Spain are awarded a free kick in a promising position after Zuber is penalised for a flailing arm. Asensio's low cross initially fails to find a team-mate before bouncing over to Nacho, who beats Sommer with an excellent strike but ends up hitting the outside of the far post.
88'
Koke is the latest player to head towards the Switzerland penalty area before trying to pick out a team-mate in front of goal, but his pass is overhit and safely bounces into the hands of Sommer.
86'
Thiago is able to carve out a chance on goal after bursting into the box and latching onto a chipped cross from Monreal, but his diving header is slightly mistimed and sails wide of its intended target.
84'
Thiago is presented with a good opportunity to shoot from just outside the penalty area after more determined play from the home side, but he instead decides to send a poor pass towards Asensio and gifts possession to Switzerland.
82'
Great save by Sommer! Vazquez showcases lovely skill as he breaks into the Switzerland box and flicks the ball through to Rodrigo. The striker then unleashes a thumping shot, but Sommer is equal to it at the near post.
80'
Spain are continuing to see plenty of the ball as we enter the final 10 minutes of the game, but they're finding it increasingly difficult to carve out chances on goal. Switzerland are sitting back and doing well to soak up the pressure being put on them.
78'
Nacho Monreal enters the game and replaces Jordi Alba.
F. Moubandje enters the game and replaces R. Rodríguez.
Switzerland have decided to make another substitution, with Moubandje coming on to replace Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Alba has made way for Monreal at left-back.
Minute
Description
76'
Asensio receives a round of applause from the home fans as he pulls off an excellent spin that takes him away from two players. The ball is then worked over to Nacho, who unleashes a cross that sails behind for a goal kick.
74'
Spain continue moving the ball around realy well as they attempt to find a way back in front. This time it's Asensio who fires a cross into the penalty area, but Sommer is there to confidently punch the ball away from danger.
72'
What a ball by Alba! An excellent long-range pass from Alba bounces into the Switzerland box and brilliantly finds Rodrigo, who tries to control the ball and shoot but lets himself down with a heavy first touch.
70'
Nacho enters the game and replaces Odriozola.
Odriozola, who thoroughly impressed this evening, makes way for Nacho in another change for Spain.
69'
Switzerland's equaliser seems to have disrupted Spain's rhythm, and they're yet to carve out a chance on goal since then. The number of substitutions made hasn't helped, but the home side are still managing to see more of the ball than their opponents.
67'
Sommer is put under pressure by a poor backpass from Djourou, forcing him into blasting the ball high into the air. Luckily for Switzerland, they're just about able to deal with the danger and win themselves a throw-in near the corner flag.
65'
Odriozola makes another good run down the right wing and towards the byline, where he receives the ball. He then tries to cross, but the linesman's flag is rightly raised before he can do so.
63'
G. Fernandes enters the game and replaces V. Behrami.
M. Lang enters the game and replaces S. Lichtsteiner.
Lang has come on to replace Lichtsteiner for Switzerland.
And Gelson Fernandes has also made his way onto the pitch to take the place of Behrami.
62'
R. Rodríguez has scored a goal for Switzerland!
GOAL! Switzerland have equalised! The visitors move the ball around nicely and work it over to Lichtsteiner, who shoots from just inside the penalty area. The strike should be easily dealt with by De Gea but it's fumbled by the goalkeeper, allowing Rodriguez to poke in from close range.
60'
Rodrigo enters the game and replaces Diego Costa.
Marco Asensio enters the game and replaces David Silva.
Meanwhile, Silva has made way for Asensio as Lopetegui looks to protect him before the start of the World Cup.
That'll be Costa's final involvement in the game, as he's been replaced by Rodrigo in attack.
59'
Great chance to make it 2-0! Odriozola bursts towards the byline and chips a cross into the middle of the Switzerland box. Costa goes for a spectacular overhead kick and misses the ball, but Alba is there to fire a first-time shot just wide of the goal.
57'
Saúl gets yellow.
Saul has only been on the pitch for two minutes and he's already received a yellow card. He flies into the back of Shaqiri and sends the Stoke City man crashing to the ground, leaving the referee with no choice but to book him.
55'
Saúl enters the game and replaces Andrés Iniesta.
Saul comes on to replace Iniesta, who receives a standing ovation from the Spain fans as he makes way.
54'
Iniesta looks to be thoroughly enjoying himself out there at the moment, and he's forcing the Switzerland defence into doing a lot of work. He dances his way into the penalty area and tries to poke a pass over to a team-mate, but Behrami is there to out-muscle the midfielder at the vital moment.
52'
Iniesta goes close once again! Djourou does well to cut out a pass intended for Costa but can only gift possession back to the home side. A low cross then finds Costa and sets him up to poke the ball back to Iniesta, who immediately sends a strike just inches wide of the near post.
50'
Slightly sloppy play by Switzerland gifts possession to Thiago in a promising position, but the midfielder can't quite pick out Alba over on the left flank and loses out to Lichtsteiner.
48'
There's a brief break in play as Iniesta receives medical treatment for a slight knock, but he's able to get back to his feet soon after and is serenaded with a rousing round of applause.
46'
J. Djourou enters the game and replaces F. Schär.
B. Embolo enters the game and replaces B. Džemaili.
J. Drmić enters the game and replaces H. Seferović.
Lucas Vázquez enters the game and replaces Iago Aspas.
We're underway once again!
The second is Embolo, with Dzemaili making way.
And the third is Drmic, who takes the place of Seferovic up front.
Spain have decided to make a substitution during the half-time break, with Aspas making way for Vazquez.
Meanwhile, Switzerland have decided to make a triple change. The first player to come on is Djourou, who replaces Schar.
45'
Wonderful play by Iniesta! The midfielder embarks on another great run towards the box before getting a shot away, and once again Sommer is forced into making a strong save to deny him the second goal of the game.
43'
Thiago brilliantly spins round Behrami and heads towards the Switzerland penalty area. He then fires a cross over to Alba, who quickly shoots but has his effort blocked by Costa before it can test Sommer.
41'
Odriozola sprints down the right flank with plenty of intent and manages to weave his way through a sea of white shirts. He then sends a pass over to Costa, who knocks the ball back to Iniesta, and the midfielder forces Sommer into making a decent save with his low strike.
39'
Costa goes close! Koke swings a lovely corner into the heart of the Switzerland box and picks out Costa, who rises high above his marker but, slightly off balance, fails to hit the target with his headed effort.
37'
Switzerland pile a decent number of bodies forward once again as they attempt to carve out a rare chance on goal, but Lichtsteiner ends up clumsily fouling Azpilicueta and concedes a free kick before they can do so.
35'
Switzerland are now starting to show a bit more urgency pushing forward after finding themselves firmly on the back foot. Spain have exerted a lot of energy and are starting to sit back and defend their lead as we head towards the half-time break.
33'
Aspas is bullied off the ball and once again Switzerland fly forward on an impressive counter-attack. He plays a quick one-two with Shaqiri and then fizzes a pass across the face of goal, but unfortunately for the full-back there isn't anyone there to meet it.
31'
Spain have enjoyed 70% of the possession so far, and they certainly look comfortable on the ball now they've scored that all-important opening goal. Switzerland are finding themselves increasingly under pressure as they sit far too deep inside their own half of the pitch.
29'
Odriozola has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by David Silva.
It was Silva whose pass found its way over to Odriozola, but Switzerland really should have done better defensively. Lichtsteiner initially failed to clear the danger and allowed the ball to bounce straight into Silva's feet.
GOAL! What a strike by Odriozola! Switzerland aren't able to clear the danger and allow a deflected cross to bounce out to Odriozola, who immediately rockets a beautiful volley straight into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
27'
Another attempted Spain attack comes to an end, and Switzerland quickly break away down the left flank. Seferovic drifts out wide and then tries to tee up Dzemaili, but his pass is brilliantly intercepted by Alba on the edge of the penalty area.
25'
Lovely one-touch passing from Spain causes all sorts of problems for the Switzerland back line and almost results in a chance on goal, but Alba's ball to Silva is slightly overhit and denies the latter the opportunity to spin and shoot.
23'
Dzemaili doesn't miss by much! Zakaria does well to win back possession for Switzerland, who then quickly counter-attack. The ball is worked out wide and over to Lichtsteiner, whose deflected cross sets up Dzemaili to fire a downward volley just over the crossbar.
21'
Silva goes close! A chipped pass is fired up to the edge of the Switzerland box, where Costa quickly nods the ball down to Silva. The Manchester City midfielder then shoots, and he only misses the far corner of the net by a yard or so.
20'
Lichtsteiner cuts inside from the right wing and chips a deft pass into the Spain penalty area. It's a clever idea from the full-back, but there are no white shirts there to meet the ball and it's comfortably met by De Gea.
18'
Alba is clumsily fouled from behind by Behrami, resulting in a free kick for Spain in a promising position over on the left flank. Silva's cross is a decent one but Aspas can only send a glancing header well wide of the far post.
16'
Switzerland are able to find a bit of space out wide once again, and this time it's Rodriguez who gets himself into a good position. He then whips a cross into the middle of the box, but it's slightly overhit and safely bounces into the hands of De Gea.
14'
Iniesta and Alba link up well over on the left flank, setting up the latter to cross. He's almost able to find Costa at the far post but Rodriguez just about gets a toe on the ball ahead of the Spain striker.
12'
Spain have certainly started the game the better of the two sides, and they're showing plenty of attacking intent at the moment. Switzerland's midfielders are particularly struggling to deal with the pressure being put on them, although they've managed to limit the home side to just one chance on goal so far.
10'
Aspas makes a clever run into the left-hand side of the Switzerland box and wins Spain a corner, but the hosts aren't quite able to carve out a chance on goal after going short with the set-piece.
8'
Seferovic goes close! Lichtsteiner is left in a pocket of space out wide and is able to burst forward once again. This time his cross into the penalty area does find a team-mate in Seferovic, but the striker's first-time shot is brilliantly stopped by De Gea before the linesman's flag is eventually raised.
6'
The visitors go long once again as they try to take advantage of Spain's high line, but this time it's Seferovic who isn't able to get on the end of the ball and instead watches it bounce into the hands of De Gea.
4'
Switzerland are able to push forward on their first attacking move after a nervy few minutes. Lichtsteiner charges down the right wing and crosses, but he isn't quite able to pick out Dzemaili on the edge of the box.
2'
Great save by Sommer! Spain immediately go on the front foot as they put Switzerland under plenty of pressure. A low cross finds Koke and the midfielder's first-time shot deflects back to Thiago, who also shoots but has his effort well saved by Sommer.
1'
We're off! It's Spain who get us underway.
Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of today’s international friendly between Spain and Switzerland at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
Along with Brazil, Germany and France, Spain arguably head into the World Cup as one of the favourites to lift the trophy, and it’s easy to see why when you look at their form under Julen Lopetegui. They’re yet to lose a single game under the former Porto boss and showed just how strong a side they are when they comfortably thrashed Argentina 6-1 in their last outing.
The end of the Vicente del Bosque era presented Spain with a chance to re-establish themselves as one of international football’s finest teams after underwhelming in recent competitions, and it’s an opportunity they seem to have grabbed with both hands. They comfortably made it through their World Cup qualifying group, dropping points just once, and have won 13 of the 18 games they’ve played since Lopetegui took charge.
Tonight’s clash could prove to be a tough one for them, though, as they’re set to take on a side that have really impressed in recent years. Switzerland finished qualifying equal on points with group leaders Portugal and have lost just once in the last two years, with 13 of those 15 games ending in victories. However, this evening’s contest is certainly their biggest challenge since Euro 2016.
Switzerland have won just once against Spain, although that victory came in their last meeting back at the 2010 World Cup. The Nati were unfortunate not to make it through their group in South Africa but have come on in leaps and bounds since then, and while they have a tough fixture list awaiting them in Russia, they’ll be feeling confident about their chances of making it to the knockout stages this time.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Spain XI (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Alvaro Odriozola, Gerard Pique, Cesar Azpilicueta, Jordi Alba; Koke, Thiago Alcantara; Iago Aspas, David Silva, Andres Iniesta; Diego Costa.
Switzerland substitutes: Francois Moubandje, Nico Elvedi, Michael Lang, Breel Embolo, Remo Freuler, Yvon Mvogo, Gelson Fernandes, Mario Gavranovic, Josip Drmic, Johan Djourou, Roman Burki, Edimilson Fernandes.
Switzerland XI (4-2-3-1): Yann Sommer; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Fabian Schar, Manuel Akanji, Ricardo Rodriguez; Denis Zakaria, Valon Behrami; Xherdan Shaqiri, Blerim Dzemaili, Steven Zuber; Haris Seferovic.
Spain substitutes: Nacho, Saul, Rodrigo, Lucas Vazquez, Kepa, Nacho Monreal, Marco Asensio, Pepe Reina, Jesus Vallejo, Rodri Hernandez.
Lopetegui has decided to make four changes to the Spain side that started their last friendly, with Odriozola, Azpilicueta, Aspas and Silva coming into a very strong starting line-up.
Meanwhile, Switzerland boss Vladimir Petkovic has made nine alterations to the team that featured against Panama back in March, with only Dzemaili and Zuber retaining their places in a heavily altered line-up that contains several players who are almost certain to start in Russia.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: SPAIN 1-0 SWITZERLAND
So far, so good for Spain, who are set to extend their unbeaten run under Lopetegui and pick up their eighth victory in 10 games. They've certainly been the better of the two sides so far, and despite Switzerland managing to cause a few problems on the counter-attack, they're yet to really force De Gea into doing much.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: SPAIN 1-1 SWITZERLAND
The referee blows his whistle for the final time and neither manager will be too unhappy with the result. Spain were arguably just about the better of the two sides but didn't do enough to break down a determined Switzerland defence in the second half, meaning both sides are able to continue their impressive form heading into the final friendlies before the World Cup.
Spain's last World Cup warmup sees them take on Tunisia before heading off to Russia, while Switzerland face what should be an interesting clash against Japan on Friday. Both teams will be hoping for one final victory before the big tournament gets underway.
