Watford enter today's contest glancing over their shoulder after results earlier this afternoon. The Hornets had a strong start to the campaign, but after taking nine points from a possible 42 they've been dragged into the battle in the bottom half. The club are just three points outside of the relegation zone. A win for Javi Gracia's men is imperative to put distance between themselves and rest of the pack.
Everton have won just one of their 21 matches away from home in the Premier League, including their last three on the bounce. The Toffees are coming into the match fresh off a two-week break and a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace beforehand. They're seven points clear of the relegation zone, but given the situation in the bottom half there's a need to put further distance between themselves and the sides embroiled in the basement battle.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.

Everton have made two changes to their side that beat Palace. Kenny and Williams come into the side to replace Seamus Coleman and Eliaquim Mangala, with both players dropping out due to injury.

Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Watford and Everton at Vicarage Road.
HALF-TIME: WATFORD 0-0 EVERTON
It's goalless at the break between Watford and Everton in a game of few opportunities. Oumar Niasse had arguably the best opening of the game when his low ball was deflected toward the near post, but Orestis Karnezis made a decent stop. Other than that both teams have been poor in the final third. Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce will be looking for a spark from their respective players in the second period.
FULL-TIME: WATFORD 1-0 EVERTON
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Troy Deeney has handed Watford a vital win that keeps them away from the battle against relegation in the bottom half of the table. It was game of few opportunities, but the Hornets had the clinical edge to defeat Everton this evening. The Toffees' appalling record on the road continues, winning just one of their last 22 road games in the Premier League. Everton will have to rely on their home form to guide them clear of the mire in the bottom half.
