We're underway!
The countdown to kick-off starts here!
Good afternoon and welcome to live text commentary of this afternoon’s Premier League clash between Huddersfield Town and West Ham.
Just two points separate the sides after 22 matches – but there’s no doubt that Huddersfield fans are far happier with how the 2017-18 season has panned out to date.
Much of Huddersfield's success this term can be attributed to the club’s strong home form and the Terriers must surely fancy their chances of getting another victory on home soil. The Hammers, meanwhile, are enjoying steady progress under new boss David Moyes and are four games unbeaten in all competitions – a run that includes a 1-1 draw at Tottenham last time out in the league.
Second-half goals from Pedro Obiang and Andre Ayew proved the difference when the sides last met back in September, West Ham claiming a 2-0 win.
The Terriers have already strengthened early in the transfer window by bringing in midfielder Alex Pritchard from Norwich City and he’s on the bench today.
Here are how the teams will be lining up this afternoon...
Huddersfield XI (4-2-3-1): Lossl; Smith, Zanka, Schindler, Malone; Hogg, Mooy; van La Parra, Ince, Lolley; Depoitre.
West Ham United XI (3-5-1-1): Adrian; Collins, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble, Obiang, Masuaku; Lanzini; Arnautovic.
West Ham United substitutes: Chicharito, Ayew, Hart, Burke, Cullen, Rice.
The teams are out on the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick off.
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 WEST HAM UNITED.
Level at the break and for much of the first half it was a very tame affair with little in attack from both sides. A disastrous mistake from Joe Lossl's goal kick to Joe Lolley allowed Mark Noble to step in and fire West Ham into the lead, but Lolley redeemed himself with a wonderful individual goal, turning Noble and racing into the box before curling an effort into the far corner.
The players are back out on the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 1-4 WEST HAM UNITED.
An excellent performance in the second half sees David Moyes' rack up his 200th Premier League win as manager and West Ham pick up an important three points in their bid to steer clear of the relegation zone. Marko Arnautovic scored within 11 seconds of the second half starting, flicking the ball over the head of his marker and firing into the bottom corner. Huddersfield pressed high and chased desperately for a second goal but they were caught out by the hard-working Arnautovic and the brilliant Manuel Lanzini, with the latter capping off two counter-attacks with well taken goals to put the game well beyond the home side. The win means West Ham climb to 11th, five points clear of the danger zone. Huddersfield, meanwhile, drop to 13th.
