Southampton get the game going at Old Trafford!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League fixture between Manchester United and Southampton at Old Trafford.
The line-ups have been announced, and we'll start with the home side.
Manchester United XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Shaw, Jones, Lindelof, Young; Matic, Pogba; Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Mata; Lukaku
Manchester United substitutes: Rojo, Martial, Blind, Rashford, Romero, Herrera, Tuanzebe
Southampton XI (4-1-4-1): McCarthy; McQueen, Hoedt, Yoshida, Stephens; Romeu; Boufal, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Tadic; Long
United are without Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Eric Bailly today through injury, while Anthony Martial and Matteo Darmian are just returning - the former makes the bench.
Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino rings the changes after their embarrassing 5-2 defeat against Tottenham in their last match, dropping four players from the starting line-up. Nathan Redmond, Mario Lemina, Matt Targett, and golkeeper Fraser Forster all make way for Dusan Tadic, James Ward-Prowse, Sam McQueen, and Alex McCarthy, respectively.
The Saints are without the departing Virgil van Dijk, suspended Charlie Austin, and injured duo Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares.
Jose Mourinho makes three changes to the Manchester United side that drew 2-2 with Burnley last time out as Marcos Rojo, Marcus Rashford, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all drop to the bench. Victor Lindelof, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Jesse Lingard - who scored twice off the bench to snatch a late point for his side against the Clarets - start today.
After dropping more points at home to Burnley on Boxing Day, Manchester United find themselves 15 points behind rivals Manchester City - the biggest points gap between first and second place after 20 games in English top-flight history.
Southampton are struggling for form themselves, however, having failed to win in their last seven games, losing four in that time.
United are also in a run of poor form, having gone three games in all competitions without a win, allowing the teams below them to catch up. Chelsea - who beat Stoke City 5-0 earlier today - are now two points ahead in second, having played an extra game.
And the Red Devils may feel confident of recitfying their form here, having kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games against Southampton.
However, Southampton have a good record here in recent times, having won two of their last three league visits to Old Trafford, after a run of 19 games without a win there (D3 L16).
They lost the reverse fixture 1-0, however, courtesy of a Romelu Lukaku goal - United haven't beaten Southampton home and away in the same season since 2012-13.
The Saints will be glad, however, that Ibrahimovic is not in the squad today. The big Swede has scored four goals in his two games against Southampton in all competitions, most memorably a double - including a late winner - in the EFL Cup final last season.
And there goes the half-time whistle! United have had the better chances so far, but haven't managed to break an organised Southampton side down just yet. Lukaku had a glorious chance from a Mata cross early on, but headed over before taking a nasty blow to the head and being stretchered off after a lengthy delay. McCarthy was then forced into a low save by Mata, before Lingard wanted a penalty for handball by Yoshida in the box, but the referee declined to award a spot-kick. Hoedt missed a free header in Southampton's clearest opportunity of the half, and despite six minutes of added time, the half ends level at 0-0!
And there goes the final whistle! Manchester United draw three successive Premier League games, and have now gone four in all competitions without a win. If Manchester City beat Crystal Palace tomorrow, they will extend their lead to a massive 17 points and surely have the title wrpped up - if it isn't already. United lost Lukaku early in the first half and - despite dominating the first 45 minutes - it was Southampton who looked more likely to score in the closing stages. However, Matic's deflected shot could have given the hosts all three points had it been creeping into the bottom corner, but Pogba's touch to tuck it in meant that the goal was disallowed for offside! It finishes 0-0 here at Old Trafford!
