We are underway in this earlier Premier League game. Everton are in their traditional home kit, while Chelsea are in all white with blue socks.
Sam Allardyce's side have managed to go on a six-match unbeaten run of late and that has lifted them into ninth in the league table. They have won four of their last five games and confidence is high within the camp. Chelsea are sitting pretty in third but they have struggled for consistency of late.
Today's team news coming up...
Last time out Everton proved too much for Swansea with a 3-1 win, while Chelsea did enough to get past Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup. Alvaro Morata scored in stoppage time to grab the victory but he misses out today through suspension.
Chelsea SUBS: Hudson-Odoi, Caballero, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Batshuayi, Cahill.
Chelsea Starting XI (3-4-3): Courtois, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Moses, Kante, Bakayako, Alonso, Willian, Pedro, Hazard.
Allardyce is without top-scorer Wayne Rooney with a sickness bug currently troubling the Everton camp. The former England coach makes three changes from the game against Swansea as Tom Davies, Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka replace Mason Holgate, Ashley Williams and Rooney.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte makes just one change from the league win over Southampton as Antonio Rudiger comes in for Gary Cahill. With Morata suspended, Eden Hazard will lead the line.
The players are now in the tunnel and kick-off is fast approaching!
HALF-TIME - Everton 0-0 Chelsea.
Chelsea will feel they have done enough to lead the game but Jagielka's double clearance denied them. They have had plenty of the ball but just a lack of cutting edge and Morata's absence could be the factor. Everton have absorbed lots of pressure and only had a handful of shots but Allardyce will be pleased at the break.
Hello and welcome along to today's live text coverage of Everton vs Chelsea from the Premier League. The Toffees are in top form of late and they will be looking to take it to the reigning champions at Goodison Park. Both teams have selection woes ahead of kick-off but it could be a cracker on Merseyside.
FULL-TIME - Everton 0-0 Chelsea.
That was a typical Sam Allardyce performance from Everton as they did enough to thwart the Blues. Chelsea dominated from the first whistle but they just never clicked in the final third and it's not often you can say that about Conte's men.
Everton extend their unbeaten run under Allardyce and they continue to climb the table, while Chelsea slip even further behind Manchester City and Manchester United. Morata's absence proved crucial in the end but they will be expected to bounce back on Boxing Day.
That is all for today's coverage, thank you for joining us. Goodbye!
