Everton have a throw in the Swansea half which Kenny waits abnormally long before taking as the youngster is trying to take every possible second off the clock. The ball ends behind the goal for a goal-kick for Fabianski.
90'
The referee has indicated an additional three minutes will be played at the end of the match.
89'
Sandro Ramírez enters the game and replaces W. Rooney.
Wayne Rooney, who has contributed a goal and an assist tonight, as well as a missed penalty, will be taken off a minute before the 90 are up in favour of Sandro.
87'
Play has really slowed down since the third Everton goal, with Swansea looking to retain possession and prevent this match from turning into a drubbing. The home side have looked bright in attack even with a two-goal lead, but with the three points almost secured, Sam Allardyce will no doubt be telling his players to hold what they have.
84'
L. Fer gets yellow.
Leroy Fer is also shown a yellow card for his altercation with Kenny after the referee had blown his whistle.
83'
J. Kenny gets yellow.
Jonjoe Kenny is booked for an awful slide tackle on the newly introduced Jordan Ayew who was steaming forward in possession. Leroy Fer took exception to the challenge and went over to confront the young wing-back but luckily for the referee, a brawl was avoided.
81'
S. Clucas enters the game and replaces T. Carroll.
Swansea City use their third substitution of the evening, with Sam Clucas on for Tom Carroll.
79'
A. Lookman enters the game and replaces A. Lennon.

Description
74'
J. Ayew enters the game and replaces N. Dyer.
Immediately after the goal, Paul Clement makes his second substitution of the evening, putting Jordan Ayew in for Nathan Dyer.
73'
Penalty goal scored by W. Rooney for Everton!
IT’S ANOTHER PENALTY FOR EVERTON! A lovely bit of interplay between Kenny and Lennon frees the Everton right-back in the box where he is tackled from behind by Olsson. And Rooney will have a second chance from the penalty spot.
THIS TIME HE GETS IT RIGHT! Wayne Rooney sends the ball high and to the right of Fabianksi who gets the direction correct and manages to get a hand to it, but the pace of the shot is too much and Everton go up by two with 15 minutes to play!
71'
Leroy Fer’s late tackle sends Gueye to the floor and the Swansea goalscorer gives his opposition a free-kick in midfield.
69'
Wayne Rooney sends a long ball over the top for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to run onto but Fabianski rushes far out of his goal to get a clearing header on the ball. Dangerous goalkeeping if done incorrectly, but the former Arsenal backup played it perfectly.
66'
At the other end, a Swansea corner amounts to nothing as the ball is cleared before being sent back into the box a second time, but Abraham is whistled by the referee for a handball which allows Pickford to clear his lines.
64'
G. Sigurðsson has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by W. Rooney.
Wayne Rooney gets credit for the assist as he distributed the ball to the left for Sigurdsson.
BRILLIANT GOAL FROM GYLFI SIGURDSSON AGAINST HIS OLD CLUB! The goal is typical for Sigurdsson who picks the ball up in a wide area before cutting inside and striking the ball beautifully with his right foot. The ball curls away from the goalkeeper in absolutely tremendous fashion and the former Swansea City player has given Everton the lead! 2-1!
63'
Nathan Dyer attempts a cross but Kenny closes him down quickly and his sliding challenge puts the ball out for a corner kick which is taken short before Roque Mesa puts in a high hanging ball which goes right to Pickford. Considering Swansea scored from a corner earlier, it was a really poor effort.
61'
T. Davies enters the game and replaces M. Schneiderlin.
Sam Allardyce makes his first change of the evening, removing Morgan Schneiderlin in favour of Tom Davies.
60'
Sigurdsson takes an in-swinging corner and it falls for Holgate but his header is put wide of Fabianski’s right post.
58'
Sigurdsson cuts in from the left and finds some space to take a shot but he is unable to score against his former side as the strike is directed at the centre of the goal where Fabianski was waiting to make the save.
55'
STAT: Swansea have only beaten Everton once in the Premier League at Goodison Park – a 2-1 victory in January of 2016.
52'
F. Fernández gets yellow.
The referee goes back to Fernandez after play stops and books Fernandez for his earlier foul on Calvert-Lewin.
Calvert-Lewin does phenomenally well to let the ball roll between his legs and get past Federico Fernandez who was trying to halt the young striker by holding him back. The Spanish midfielder fails in his attempts but Calvert-Lewin’s cross is poor and the Swansea goalkeeper collects.
50'
Kenny is called by the referee for a high-boot challenge on Nathan Dyer as he was attempting to win the ball and continue the Everton attack.
48'
Leroy Fer stays down after a challenge by Morgan Schneiderlin in which the Everton midfielder caught his Swansea counterpart with a knee in the back. It certainly looked painful and two members of the medical staff are on the pitch to administer treatment.
46'
Wayne Rooney takes the kick-off and gets the second half of action underway!
45' +2
D. Calvert-Lewin has scored a goal for Everton!
Penalty saved by Ł. Fabiański!
SAVE! The Everton penalty is pushed onto the left post by Fabianski and Rooney is denied his tenth goal of the season!
Wayne Rooney has his penalty saved by Fabianski and the Everton captain tonight misses a great opportunity to level the two sides before half-time!
EVERTON STILL MANAGE TO SCORE! The ball comes back into play off the post after Fabianski’s save and the first to react to the chance is Dominic Calvert-Lewin who manages to slide the ball past Fabianski and into the net! Paul Clement thought his side avoided disaster but Everton makes the most of the situation. 1-1!
45' +1
PENALTY TO EVERTON WITH LESS THAN A MINUTE TO PLAY IN THE FIRST HALF! Roque Mesa is unable to deal with Lennon as the English winger receives the ball from a Wayne Rooney pass and Mesa takes down Lennon from behind – a clear penalty.
45'
Everton are in possession looking to close the first half with a goal which would see them level at the interval but Swansea are once again doing well to limit the Toffees attacking options. That seems to have been the story of the match so far as Everton have looked unimpressive going forward.
42'
Martin Olsson has a great strike at goal from the left where he is unmarked but the effort curls just away from goal and Pickford is furious that the left-back was not closed down appropriately.
40'
Fer is penalized for obstructing Sigurdsson who took up a central position. The free-kick is whipped in by the Icelandic forward to the far post and Ashley Williams pulls his header back for Wayne Rooney, but Rooney strays just offside and the referee blows his whistle.
37'
N. Dyer gets yellow.
Nathan Dyer is booked after diving in on Kenny with a two-footed challenge. That was a poor attempt at a tackle and he is deserving of his yellow card.
35'
L. Fer has scored a goal for Swansea City! Assist by T. Carroll.
AND FROM THE CORNER, A GOAL! Tom Carroll’s left-foot cross gets through the box and is met by Leroy Fer who was thoroughly unmarked. All the Dutch midfielder had to do was tap the ball home into an open net, which he duly obliged. 1-0 Swansea!
Tom Carroll receives the assist as his corner kick led to the goal.
34'
Leroy Fer wins a free-kick from Morgan Schneiderlin which slows a bit of the mounting Swansea momentum. The free-kick is played short to Naughton before coming into the feet of Abraham who wins a corner kick.
32'
A lovely bit of Everton pressure heavily involving Wayne Rooney comes to an end as Naughton and Narsingh combine to dispossess the former England captain who then cynically tugs back Naughton, giving away a free-kick.
30'
From the free-kick, Carroll takes with his left foot and the effort was precise, curling up and over the wall but Pickford was alert to the situation and managed to catch it with a diving save.
29'
M. Holgate gets yellow.
Mason Holgate is booked for a last-ditch challenge just outside his penalty area on Nathan Dyer who was breaking with pace, although replay suggests that the young defender’s first touch was on the ball.
28'
FANTASTIC FROM LENNON BUT JUST WIDE! Aaron Lennon receives the ball in space before turning and putting the ball between Mawson’s legs but Lennon’s shot was poor and missed the target by a significant margin.
27'
STAT: Despite being ten places higher, Everton still own a poorer defensive record than Swansea, conceding twenty-nine goals to the Swans’ twenty-two.
24'
Narsingh once again gets free down the right, jinking his way past Cuco Martina but his curling effort goes just high of Pickford’s goal and out for a goal kick. Narsingh and Abraham are linking up very well but the final product has been poor thus far.
21'
The ball comes to Roque Mesa just outside the Everton penalty area. The Spanish midfielder takes it down off his chest and hits a volley but the effort is wayward and poor.
20'
It’s Everton’s turn to sit on the ball and try and find space in the Swansea defensive third. The home side have been camped in the opposition half for some time now but have not manufactured any room to attempt a shot on target.
17'
Calvert-Lewin wins a corner while being marked by Fernandez on the left flank. Sigurdsson’s delivery does not beat the Swansea man stationed at the front post however, and the ball is cleared to Jordan Pickford.
14'
Swansea are pressing very high when Everton have the ball and so far Clement’s strategy has worked in pinning the home side back and forcing them to go long over the top. The commitment to forcing a turnover could, however, have negative ramifications if the Toffees are able to beat the press.
11'
Swansea are enjoying a spell of possession inside the Everton half passing well from left to right and trying to spread the organized Everton defence. They are retaining the ball well but are being kept from penetrating the penalty area.
9'
Mason Holgate receives a talking to from the referee after a late challenge saw Abraham go down and win a free-kick just inside the Everton half.
8'
Abraham plays through Narsingh with a back-heel pass but the attacking wingers shot is a weak one and Pickford collects from the ground comfortably. Narsingh would have been hoping for a better effort there.
5'
T. Abraham enters the game and replaces W. Bony.
Confirmation of that change as Wilfried Bony will be unable to continue and Tammy Abraham will replace him.
4'
Tammy Abraham is getting warmed up on the sidelines and looks to be entering the game very early from the bench. Wilfried Bony appears to have picked up a knock a minute earlier in a tussle with Ashley Williams.
2'
Narsingh gets free on the right wing but his cutback for Tom Carroll falls behind the onrushing midfielder and Everton get the ball away.
1'
Swansea get the contest underway attacking from left to right.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of Everton v Swansea City from Goodison Park in Liverpool!
Wayne Rooney has also been rejuvenated under the new manager scoring two in his last two – both of which secured Everton partial or full points in those contests. The former England captain is up to 9 goals this season in fifteen games since returning to his boyhood club in the summer. The Toffees have been a potent side at home, averaging 3 goals – as well as 3 points – per match in their last 3 games at Goodison.
If Everton are showing signs of renewal, the exact opposite can be said of a beleaguered and unimpressive Swansea side that prop up the rest of the table. With only two victories in their last ten matches and no wins away from home since match week 2 against Crystal Palace, Paul Clement’s side are spiraling ,and with the Swans having to face Everton and Liverpool in back-to-back weeks with both in Merseyside, the situation is looking grim for the Welsh club.
Goal scoring is of primary concern for Paul Clement who still has not found the answer to replace Fernando Llorente. On loan striker Tammy Abraham and prodigal son Wilfried Bony have combined for 6 goals and 1 assist all season, which explains why Swansea are the Premier League’s lowest scorers with only 9 goals in seventeen matches. The Swans have failed to score on a staggering ten occasions, 5 of which have been in games away from home.
With fifteen minutes to go before kick-off, the team news has been announced! Let's begin with the home side.
Everton Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Cuco Martina, Ashley Williams, Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny; Morgan Schneiderlin, Idrissa Gueye; Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wayne Rooney, Aaron Lennon; Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Everton substitutes: Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, Sandro Ramirez, Tom Davies, Nikola Vlasic, Ademola Lookman, Joel Robles.
Swansea City substitutes: Mike van der Hoorn, Tammy Abraham, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Sam Clucas, Jordan Ayew, Angel Rangel, Renato Sanches.
The teams are making their way out onto the pitch and kick-off should follow shortly.
HALF-TIME: Everton 1 - 1 Swansea City.
It was a first half of relatively little quality as both sides had their share of difficulties capitalizing on opportunities. Narsingh has done well against Cuco Martina on the right-hand side but despite getting into great positions, his final attempts have been poor.
Swansea took the lead from a corner which trickled all the way to the back-post where Fer managed to tap the ball home into an empty net. The defending was poor from Everton but on the balance of play, Swansea deserved their lead as they were the more adventurous and confident side on the ball. It looked as though that result would hold until half-time but a Roque Mesa challenge from behind on Aaron Lennon in the box gave Everton a chance to restore parity in added time. Rooney’s penalty was struck well but Fabianski managed to push the shot onto the post and keep the clean sheet. Unfortunately for him, the first to react to the loose ball was Dominic Calvert-Lewin who dispatched his opportunity with confidence and brought Everton level. The match is perfectly poised heading into the second half, and both sides should believe that they can win all three points.
Sam Allardyce names an unchanged side from the eleven that kept a clean sheet in their victory over Newcastle 5 days ago. Everton are still without the likes of: Baines, Coleman and Ramiro Funes Mori, so Jonjoe Kenny, Mason Holgate, Ashley Williams and Cuco Martina start in defence in front of Jordan Pickford. A midfield duo of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin anchor the centre of the park and will allow the attacking trio of Aaron Lennon, Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson to stay forward in pursuit of goals. The lone striker today is young Englishman Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The positive effects of Sam Allardyce cannot be understated since his appointment last month. In that time, the Toffees have taken 7 out of a possible 9 points including a draw in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield just over a week ago. Everton are now sitting comfortably in 10th place, and could go above Watford into 9th with a win. Since Allardyce took over from David Unsworth, the defence has been revitalised, with Jordan Pickford and the rest of the back line conceding a single goal despite having only managed one clean sheet in their previous thirteen games.
Paul Clement alters his formation from the 4-5-1 that lost 4-0 to Manchester City to a 4-3-3 and makes 3 personnel changes in the process. Lukasz Fabianski retains his place in goal, while Olsson, Mawson and Kyle Naughton return in defence, with van der Hoorn replaced by Federico Fernandez in the centre back role. In the centre of the pitch, Roque Mesa and Carroll return while Ki is dropped to the bench in favour of Leroy Fer. The attacking trident also sees one change, as Luciano Narsingh will play wide left instead of Jordan Ayew, alongside Nathan Dyer and striker Wilfried Bony.
Thank you for following along and we hope you enjoyed our live text commentary of Everton v Swansea City. See you all next time!
Swansea were unable to add to their first half tally and offered precious little in an attacking sense in the second and were simultaneously unable to keep a lid on Everton’s surging attack. Tammy Abraham was unable to get any positive service and his contribution to the game after coming on for Bony early in the match was minute. Roque Mesa was shambolic in midfield, giving away the first-half penalty and making extremely poor contact with a volley in a good position in the first. Paul Clement’s side remain four points from safety at the foot of the table and have another extremely difficult task at the weekend in Liverpool, this time against Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.
Everton turned on the attacking style in the second half, and goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson against his former side and a Wayne Rooney penalty removed any doubt of the outcome of this match. Everton attacked well in the second period of play and some great one-two passing left the Swansea back-line without any ideas. Sigurdsson’s goal was a fantastically typical effort from the Icelandic play-maker who received possession on the left-hand side, cut in and hit a curling effort past the outstretched hand of Lukasz Fabianski. The penalty was won by Jonjoe Kenny who got free in the area after some intricate play with Aaron Lennon before Olsson committed a leg-tangling foul. Everton go into ninth place just ahead of Watford and will be full of confidence before their meeting with Chelsea next Saturday at Goodison Park.
