KICK-OFF! We're underway at Stade de la Meinau, where the visitors are the heavy favourites.
PSG's seemingly unstoppable march towards the Ligue 1 crown continued during the week, despite a penalty miss from Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan missed from the spot in the first half, but second-half strikes from Neymar and an error-atoning goal from Cavani secured the win for Unai Emery's side. They've dropped only four points this term, highlighting the challenge at hand for Strasbourg this afternoon.
Strasbourg have overcome a difficult start to the season, but still remain just one place above the relegation zone in Ligue 1. Thierry Laurey's men have suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches, which came at the hands of Troyes. However, their inability to close out victories this term has seen the club fail to pull away from the bottom three - claiming just three wins in their 15 matches.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Ligue 1 clash between Strasbourg and Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade de la Meinau.
PSG substitutes: Trapp, Verratti, Cavani, Meunier, Lo Celso, Kurzawa, Nkunku.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
There are six changes from Unai Emery, as Kevin Trapp, Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier, Layvin Kurzawa, Giovani Lo Celso and Edinson Cavani all come out of the starting XI from the win over Troyes.
Javier Pastore will be delighted to retain his place in the starting XI for two successive matches. The Argentine had spoken of his frustration at failing to earn a regular place in the XI for the big games. And while Troyes and Strasbourg might not be the most demanding opponents PSG will face, the World Cup hopeful has another chance to impress here.
In addition to Pastore and Di Maria of La Albiceleste, several other PSG stars now know who they will be facing at next year's World Cup finals in Russia. Neymar, wrapped up against the cold here in eastern France, will be hoping Brazil - drawn against Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia - can improve on their nightmare 7-1 loss to eventual winners Germany in the semi-finals on home soil in 2014.
As for Draxler's holders, Die Mannschaft face Mexico, Sweden and South Korea.
PSG could be forgiven here for having one eye on next week's Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.
PSG smashed the Bundesliga holders 3-0 at Parc des Princes in September, a result that prompted Bayern to sack Carlo Ancelotti and replace him with Jupp Heynckes.
And another victory over the Bavarian powerhouse will seal top spot in Group B and secure a potentially favourable opponent in the round of 16.
But let's return our focus to this match - it's the first time promoted Strasbourg and PSG have met in Ligue 1 since April 2008, when substitute Amara Diane sealed a 1-0 win for the capital city side.
The teams are on the pitch and shaking hands as we close in on kick-off here...
Just time for a stat courtesy of Opta that won't fill fans of the home team with confidence: Strasbourg have won only one of their last 20 games against PSG in Ligue 1 (D4 L15).
HALF-TIME: STRASBOURG 1-1 PSG
Kylian Mbappe has brought PSG level at the break after Joia Nuno Da Costa put Strasbourg ahead in the 24th minute after being left unmarked from a free-kick. The visitors upped the ante towards the end of the half and after Mbappe levelled they could have taken the lead, only for Javier Pastore to be denied by the post. The game remains in the balance and the home side will be satisfied with their work thus far.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway shortly.
FULL-TIME: STRASBOURG 2-1 PSG
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Strasbourg have held out for a famous win over Paris Saint-Germain. Goals from Nuno Da Costa and Stephane Bahoken have guided them to the three points this evening. Kylian Mbappe brought the visitors back into the contest in the first half, but Unai Emery's men were not at their best in the final third, missing a plethora of chances at the death. It allowed the home side to see out the victory to move three points clear of the relegation zone. PSG's defeat will give hope to the chasing pack that the club are mortal this season.
