90'
Y. Konoplanka gets yellow.
Sokratis goes to ground following a clash with Konoplyanka, seemingly suggesting there was an elbow, but the replay suggested he was being nothing more than dramatic and attempting to run the clock down.
Konoplyanka gets a yellow for the initial foul on Sokratis.
88'
It's back to 11 v 10 as Harit comes back onto the pitch, somewhat limiping, but the extra shirt is going to make all the difference as Schalke push for a dramatic equaliser in this unbelievable match.

Castro comes on for his 350th Bundesliga appearance - only three active players have more (Kiessling, Weidenfeller and Claudio Pizarro). Gotze makes way.

This match just got tastier. Aubameyang is shown his second yellow for hacking down Harit in a stupid challenge and the ball shifts into Schalke's court again.
WHAT A SAVE! Burgstaller is denied by Wiedenfeller with a strong left hand to push a header onto the post and stop a Schalke onslaught for an equaliser following the red card.

It seems as if Bosz is making a defensive move as Barta comes on for Yarmolenko.

CLOSE! Burgstaller almost makes it 4-3 as Oczipka drives into the box and cuts the ball back to the striker but he was unable to turn his shot on target and slides just wide of Weidenfeller's post.
65'
A. Harit has scored a goal for Schalke 04! Assist by Y. Konoplanka.
Great work from Konoplyanka on the left to win the ball for Schalke and float a cross to the back post for Harit to fire home.
GOAL! Here we go...the belief is back. Shocking defending from Dortmund as Harit is the only blue shirt in the box and is allowed to peel away from Sahin as a cross finds him at the back post and then fires past Weidenfeller.
63'
One more goal from Schalke and this could turn into a very interesting game. The away side look committed to getting a second, but they seem very open at the back because of this. It's looking as if there is going to be more goals on the agenda!

Unbelievable vision from Stambouli to find Burgstaller with a 45 yard pass from defence to make this goal.

Despite the similar shape, Schalke are starting to look much better by pressing further up the pitch. However, this is largely in part due to Dortmund being much more compact given the scoreline in this fixture.
50'
CHANCE! Glorious opportunity for Goretzka as Oczipka crosses wonderfully into the middle who manages to find the midfielder completely unmarked. However, his header goes over the crossbar when he looked certain to score.
48'
It seems as if Kehrer's reckless nature in the first half has been noted by Tedesco by bringing him off at half time. The set-up from Schalke doesn't to have changed much from the break aside from the personnel.

44'
It doesn't appear to be tactical reasons behind Dortmund's dominance, merely the hosts evidently want this result more than their Gelsenkirchen counterparts. The pressing off the ball from Bosz's side and sheer desire to win every ball is admirable.
42'
CLOSE! Toprak gets forward for a set-piece, which is delivered into the middle by Sahin, but despite meeting with the cross the defender is only able to head the ball wide of the mark.
40'
Kehrer can consider himself very lucky to still be on the pitch! The defender commits a foul on Gotze, despite being on a yellow, and it seems as if he should have been awarded his second booking.
38'
Schalke have managed to take some sting out of this fixture with Dortmund no longer attacking as franticly as earlier. However, the away side look no better with keeping possession or launching attacks as the match goes on.
35'
Dortmund are still commanding this fixture, with 63% of the ball possession. Schalke have just the one shot in this fixture, meaning the Royal Blues have just been too wasteful with the ball in this one.

The home support are rather amusingly reminding Schalke of the 0-4 in their club name by singing it across the stadium just in case the travelling support have forgetting the scoreline.

Schalke are clearly setting out to ensure Dortmund are unable to get into any form of rhythm in this fixture with their poor form of late. With high pressure and hard tackles, the Royal Blues are starting well.
3'
W. McKennie gets yellow.
It's Schalke on the front foot early on. Burgstaller players a ball through to Konoplyanka who paces to the pass, but as the Ukrainian shoots Weidenfeller narrows the angle down and the winger loops his shot over the crossbar.
The players on the pitch are just as fired up as the fans as McKennie goes in on Schmelzer to get the first yellow card of the match.
Meanwhile, Schalke are currently boasting the second best form in the division with 14 points from their last six matches – only Bayern Munich have collected more (16). Domenico Tedesco has guided Schalke to second in the division, which is their best ranking for five years!
Having taken just one point from their last five Bundesliga matches, Dortmund currently find themselves on their longest winless run since 2014/15. However, with the arrival of the Royal Blues to Signal Iduna Park the supporters will forget it all if they triumph in the derby this afternoon.
