Rogic and Griffiths combine in the Bayern box and try to slip the ball past Boateng - but he cleans up and whips it downfield on a free-kick seconds later. Gordon collects and rolls out to Boyata - and there goes the full-time whistle! Munich have won - and Celtic's chances of reaching the round of sixteen are all but done and dusted.
90' +5
Into the final minute or so at Celtic Park and Bayern get a rare counter-attack which they push out and wide via Alcantara on the left. One more chance for the hosts?
90' +4
Thiago Alcântara enters the game and replaces A. Robben.
And a final change for the visitors to help wind down the clock - Robben is replaced by Alcantara.
90' +2
Celtic are still pressing for the late chance and come up with the ball deep on the edge of the Bayern box. They thread it back out to McGregor for a better shot - but the goalscorer is careless and loses possesion before conceding a free-kick after a clumsy hit on Alaba.
90'
A throw-in for the visitors now as Kimmich forces Griffiths out to concede, There will be six added minutes in Scotland.
88'
Dembele tries to catch a Rogic cross heading to the left flank coming up on goal - but the ball beats him by a good few seconds and Bayern get the goal-kick.
86'
After last time out less than two weeks ago, there are plenty of positives for Brendan Rodgers to take from this game. They have been much improved on the whole, but especially going forward; this has been a Celtic side unafraid to grapple with defence. Clean up their looser passages of play - and the scoreline here could be very different.
84'
Celtic blow a chance from just inside the box as Dembele skies a chance from eighteen yards. Boateng meanwhile reacts violently to what he feels should have been a foul against him, claiming that Griffiths elbowed him in the face whilst challenging for the high ball.
83'
J. Kimmich enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
Another change for Bayern here as Tolisso makes way for Joshua Kimmich.
81'
Bitton is now heavily wrapped with a bandage - and despite the blood, Martinez appears to be OK too. Play gets back underway,
Minute
Description
79'
L. Griffiths enters the game and replaces S. Armstrong.
There's a prolonged stoppage for both men to recieve medical attention - and Celtic make another change as they wait, replacing Armstrong with Leigh Griffiths.
77'
Javi Martínez has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by D. Alaba.
And now they have! Alaba puts a soft cross into the Celtic box - and the defence gives Martinez enough space to rise above all but Bitton. The Munich man heads home behind a stunned Gordon - and in the process, splits his skull open on the Hoops defender. The Bayern midfield is bloodied - but his efforts have given his side the lead once more.
75'
That's a wonderful team goal from Celtic - but they nearly sacrifice the effort they've put in with some sloppy play at the back from Brown which gifts Rodriguez a chance - bu his choice to play to Tolisso sees him pinged for offside.
74'
C. McGregor has scored a goal for Celtic! Assist by J. Forrest.
Celtic are level! Callum McGregor gets the goal that brings the Hoops back to all square as he reads the defence perfectly to slip through for a flat Forrest pass ten yards out on the left - and then manages to sneak the ball under Ulreich. Well-worked and well-deserved.
73'
Close again for Celtic! Bitton taps across a lovely cross to the far right edge of the box which Forrest expertly diverts back - but Boateng absolutely leathers it away and into midfield.
71'
A chance for Forrest on the right, who takes two steps in towards the box, twenty-five yards out and sees a wild leg from Sule blow his shot off-course and out for play.
70'
Bayern are finding their men better tonight too but not necessarily to a great extent; their completion ratio is 85% to Celtic's 80%.
68'
Some sloppiness is seeping into Celtic right now as they approach the last twenty. Bayern are not any better than they have been all night - but they have been camped mostly in the Hoops half for a good ten minites now, on and off.
66'
Robben earns a free-kick on Celtic's left-flank, deep in the Scottish side's half. He plays it back and a swift move to the left eventually finds Rudy in the box - who sees his shot deflected by Gordon and harried away by Bitton.
65'
Offside against McGregor as he tumbles down in the Munich box, seeking a penalty off a Boateng slide - but the linesman holds firm and Bayern get the ball.
64'
T. Rogić enters the game and replaces S. Sinclair.
A first change of the night for Celtic now - Tom Rogic takes the place of Sinclair.
62'
The visitors earn a corner on the back of that as Boyata blasts Rudy's late cross into the box out. He does exactly the same to the next ball floated in - only this time he pumps it downfield and out of immediate harm's way.
61'
Celtic make another fast run down the left, with McGregor and Forrest combining to play the ball smartly around a number of red-shirted Bayern men. They play wide to the right - but Munich instead read the danger and counter smartly themselves.
59'
S. Rudy enters the game and replaces A. Vidal.
And indeed they do as Sebastian Rudy comes on for Vidal.
58'
Bayern push down to the right again, and earn a throw after some clumsy footwork from Tierney sees him bundle the ball out of play. A pause though; the visitors look set to make a change.
56'
Celtic have very much come out for the second half in the same fashion they finished the first - a blistering counter-attack style that is unsettling Bayern's middle three. Munich are settling again though and starting to look firmer around the wings - one of the few places Celtic are exploiting en masse.
54'
Alaba chances his aim from thirty-five yards out on the left once more, and Gordon dives to collect - though it did appear to be pulling wide of the nearest post and out.
52'
Offside now against Martinez as the Bayern man tries to get a head to a lofted cross from Sule.
51'
Bayern get their first attack of the half from a counter-move down the right edge, finishing with Rodriguez pushing his right-footer shot wide to the left. Loose passing at the back from Brown nearly grants Coman a sitter of a chance - but Boyata somehow gets there first and cleans up shop.
49'
Armstrong gets a free-kick thirty yards out on the left edge for Celtic now after a clumsy challenge from Martinez. Bitton has the duty of taking it - and he swerves it nicely towards the left post, forcing Ulreich to punch it away.
48'
Close for Armstrong! The Celtic man gets a beauty of a through ball from McGregor and pivots to strike cleanly through the defence for the bottom left corner - but Ulreich dives to stop and divert.
47'
The hosts' first attack of the half is put into sharp reversal by Rafinha's sweeping defence but Sinclair and Tierney combine to break loose again and regather the ball on halfway.
46'
And we're back underway at Celtic Park as Dembele and Armstrong exchange passes. The Hoops get an early free-kick as Brown goes down from a Vidal challenge - and the two exchange words as play continues.
45'
Celtic get a last throw of the dice in the first half as Lustig earns a throw on the right where Forrest took his free-kick. He brings it back round and into the box for McGregor - but Martinez and Vidal combine to slip the ball away and the referee blows for half-time!
44'
A counter-attempt for Bayern sees them break down the right and then flat back into the box for Tolisso - but his attempted overhead kick sails over the crossbar and does little to trouble Gordon.
43'
It's an absolute peach of a free-kick from Forrest who curls it into the box with precision to the feet of Armstrong - but the midfielder can't get his shot between the legs of Rafinha.
42'
Forrest gets a free-kick now though as the ball comes back down the extreme right flank, into Bayern's back-left corner. It's twenty-five yards out on the touchline - and the youngster will take.
41'
And now a throw for Celtic on their right side, after Boateng bundles out Forrest's attempted cross. The latter takes - but Tolisso gets their first after a Brown header and leathers it away downfield to end the hosts' most dangerous spell yet.
40'
Armstrong floats the corner into the box and it beats all to the other side - but Dembele earns a follow-up chance from the right after he forces Sule to take it out under pressure.
39'
Corner on their left for Celtic now, as Armstrong sees his shot from twenty yards out take a deflection off Vidal.
38'
Forrest and Lustig are forced into reverse and bring it out from right to left back in their own half before pushing down via Sinclar - but Rafinha marks him out well in defence and forces the Hoops to double back again.
36'
A nicely set-up passage of play from Celtic after the free kick, with Forrest curling a lovely ball into the box from the right edge. It goes up for a few headers, before Dembele gets a touch - but the forward can only steer it wide and left of his near post.
35'
A free-kick to Celtic now just inside the Bayern half on the left flank, as the referee summons Tolisso and Brown for words after the pair came together off the ball.
34'
In defence however, Bayern are catching the freer passes too easily. Tierney does well to clear up a Abala cross but no sooner than he tries to play it out of his half, Munich have come up with an interception and are knocking on the box again, this time via Tolisso.
32'
That lapse at the back doesn't seem to have fazed Celtic going forward, it must be said. They're playing looser somewhat in midfield - as Sinclair and Tierney both pull in from the edge - but they're looking composed in attack.
30'
Bayern have clicked into gear on the back of that goal, their movements from midfield to attack less clunky and slick. They nearly come undone though as a series of high-ball headers from Celtic set up Dembele - and it takes an Abala slide to halt his shot after an excellent last cross to the striker.
28'
Risky moment from Gordon there as he gets a play-back from Bitton and very nearly knocks it back into the path of a storming Robben.
27'
Now Dembele is caught by the same trap downfield as he goes searching for an Armstrong cross on the left side of the box. Bayern get the ball.
25'
Rodriguez is pinged for offside as he heads into Celtic's back-right corner seeking a long ball from Tolisso crossfield, and Celtic get a free kick.
23'
The Hoops' defence had been doing so well too, against a rather tepid Bayern attack. But being a goal down against the German champions within twenty-five minutes? That's a heck of a mountain to climb for them now if they hope to win.
22'
K. Coman has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by S. Ulreich.
Oh, what a mix-up at the back! Gordon and his defenders entirely misread a long ball from Ulreich that sails straight to Coman; and when the keeper comes out of his box to deal, the Frenchman dummies him and slips the ball flat into the box, despite Boyata's efforts to double back. Bayern lead at Celtic Park.
21'
Vidal pushes his corner into the box with a deft touch; but in the challenge, Rodriguez is deemed to have had a hand on it and Celtic get a free-kick for Gordon to take.
20'
Boyata gets his body on the line as Rodriguez tries a shot from ten yards out from a square pass off Coman - denying the goal but conceding the corner.
18'
Bayern elect to play it round their back four before pushing in down the left via Vidal. He floats it long, crossfield to the right for Tolisso, who brings it back across with a lob pass for Coman just inside the box - but the Frenchman stumbles and knocks it out for a goal kick.
16'
Rodriguez earns another throw in Celtic's back-right corner, and Robben plays it back out to Alaba. The back winger can't resist a shot himself - from a near identical spot as that early chance from Vidal - and the ball takes much the same trajectory, high and wide to the right.
15'
Another break into the box for Celtic now, this time through Dembele, who picks up possession in midfield and sprints a full half-length into the box on the left, before spraying his low shot across the face of goal and well out on the right.
14'
A cheeky little one-two on the run from Forrest and McGregor there, into the centre from the right flank and back out to the right of the box where the former tries to whip it back in for Armstrong. He only finds Sule, who heads it clear and away.
12'
So far, so quiet in the opening exchanges here, with a decent chance for each side so far. Bayern look to have the more teeth; composed and controlling in midfield. But Celtic are showing good spark in counter-play, catching their opponents unawares at points.
10'
A free-kick comes the way of Celtic in their own half after captain Brown is caught by a striking boot to the back of the ankle courtesy of Vidal.
8'
Tierney now earns a throw on Bayern's right flank and clips it flat to Armstrong - but the Celtic man fumbles the next pass and Munich sweep in via Boateng to pick up the ball.
6'
Bayern proceed down into Celtic's left corner and earn a throw. Tolisso whips it into the box but Dembele cuts back to ferry it away - and then earns a free-kick after a tap on the shin from Martinez.
4'
A clumsy lunge from Lustig on Coman gives a corner away to Bayern - bu Celtic sweep it downfield in a wonderful counter that ends with a Forrest cross from the right edge of the box being bundled just wide by Armstrong. An early sniff of a chance for both.
3'
Coman and Robben force the Celtic defence to backpedal somewhat, but Lustig plays it across to Gordon who safely secures the ball and halts any encroaching attack.
2'
Vidal picks up a loose pass through to the Celtic midfield from Lustig and gets the first chance of the match as he approaches the left edge of the eighteen-yard box - but he cleaves it well wide of the box and out for a goal kick.
1'
Rodriguez flicks it back to Coman at the whistle and we are underway in Glasgow!
Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Matchday Four of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League as Celtic host Jupp Heynckes’ Bayern Munich in the first reversal of the campaign within Group B. The Hoops went down 3-0 in at the Allianz Arena in Germany less than a fortnight ago – can Brendan Rodgers mastermind a shock payback victory on home turf to throw the race for the knockout stages up in the air? Kick-off is just around the corner.
Despite having equalled their 100-year unbeaten domestic record at the weekend against Kilmarnock, Celtic have fared less well in Europe this season, with Anderlecht their only scalp. They are sharing a group with two of the tournament favourites though, in Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain – and a win against the odds tonight at Celtic Park could see them with a serious shot of reaching the next round.
Bayern are undefeated against Celtic in the Champions League, having won twice and drawn once in three encounters. The German outfit have not travelled well though in the competition; across their last nine games on the road, they have only twice, with five losses. Indeed, away from home, they have let in a combined seven goals in their last two European games – a leaky defence that could be exploited by the Scottish side this evening.
History is against the Hoops for certain though; they have never beaten German opposition in this competition, in five previous encounters. No Scottish side has beaten Bayern Munich in non-friendly games in twelve matches since Hearts beat them in the UEFA Cup; Saturday’s goalscorer Leigh Griffiths wasn’t even born at the time of that Caledonian Triumph, taking place in February 1989.
Recent years don’t make for pretty reading for The Bhoys either; they are without a win in five home Champions League games, taking one point from a possible fifteen, and netting only the once too. A loss tonight, combined with a PSG win, will send the French team through – and all but consign the Scots to the Europa League or elimination.
Three of the last five Champions League goals recorded by Bayern have seen the direct involvement of Joshua Kimmich, either netting or assisting; the defender got on the scoresheet last time out versus Celtic. Conversely, no team has attempted fewer shots than the Hoops in the campaign, with 24 – whilst the Bundesliga champions have more than anyone else, with 71.
The dangerman Rodgers would have been worried about is Munich’s Robert Lewandowski tonight; no player has hit the target more than him in the competition this season, with nine shots finding their mark. Only one however has been a score – and with the Poland captain missing this evening, it is one threat removed from the equation for Celtic.
The teams are out to the strains of Zadok the Priest, the anthem of the Champions League, and we are about to get underway at Celtic Park!
Brendan Rodgers will be less than impressed with that defensive snafu at the back that gave Coman his goal - but that aside, it's been a fairly evenly matched first half in Scotland this evening. Bayern have often looked the more composed side, controlling their midfield and pushing forward strongly - but a livewire Celtic counter-attack has seen them bare their teeth too. Half-time then in Glasgow, it's Celtic 0-1 Bayern Munich.
It was two defensive lapses that gifted Bayern Munich two relatively easy goals tonight - and at points, Jupp Heynckes' men looked somewhat unsure of themselves. But in the end, they marginally shaded a much more tenacious Celtic side that two weeks ago, who were buoyed by a strong home showing. The Scottish side are destined be in a fight for the Europa League now - but for the most part, they did themselves justice against one of Europe's bigegst names. Full time at Celtic Park, it finishes Celtic 1-2 Bayern Munich.
With PSG's 5-0 drubbing of Anderlecht tonight elsewhere in Group B, it is assured that Bayern will be joined by the French side in the round of sixteen, whom they face in early December. Celtic are out due to tiebreaker rules - with third place and a slot in UEFA's other contiental club competition looking more likely. Can the Hoops continue their European journey for the season? We'll find out soon enough - until then, thank you and goodnight!
