No, they can't! The ball into the box is a good one, and Handanovic is easily able to cut out the danger with a comfortable take at the far post. That should be that for Inter!

Eder cynically fouls Locatelli from behind as the young midfielder flies forward on a quick counter-attack, resulting in a free-kick for Milan and a yellow card for the striker. Can the Rossoneri make it count?

PENALTY! The resulting corner is curled over to the far post and almost finds D'Ambrosio, but the defender is dragged to the ground by Rodriguez and wins Inter a late, late penalty. What drama!
88'
What a block by Rodriguez! Neither Vecino nor Icardi are able to get a shot away from inside the Milan box, but the latter can set up Eder to shoot. He immediately does so, but Rodriguez is there to block it with a fantastic sliding interception.
86'

Description
81'
S. Handanovič is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL! Milan have equalised yet again! Borini cuts inside from the right flank and quickly fires a great cross into the heart of the Inter penalty area. It deflects off two players before picking out Bonaventura at the far post, and the midfielder sticks out a foot to beat Handanovic with a close-range poke. The goalkeeper seemed to drag the ball over the line after initially pushing the effort onto the post. The Inter players look stunned!
79'
I. Perišić gets yellow.
Perisic catches Silva in the face as he tries to fend off the Portuguese over on the left flank. The Croatian initially looks as if he's got away with the contact made on the striker, but the referee eventually blows his whistle and brings out his yellow card.
78'
M. Locatelli enters the game and replaces A. Romagnoli.
Manuel Locatelli has come on to replace Romagnoli for Milan. It looks as if Rodriguez is going to drop into the back three and Bonaventura will operate as an attacking wing-back.
77'
Joao Cancelo twists and turns over on the right-hand side of the Milan penalty area as he tries to get a shot away, and he eventually fires a low cross off Romagnoli and behind for a corner. The set-piece is swung in by Valero and finds Perisic, whose low header is sent into the hands of Donnarumma in the middle of the goal.
75'
Cutrone drops deep as he tries to pick up the ball a few yards outside of the Inter box. He then spins and pokes a pass into the penalty area, but there's nobody there to meet it and the ball rolls straight into the hands of Handanovic.
73'
João Cancelo enters the game and replaces A. Candreva.
Candreva receives a rousing round of applause from the Inter fans as he's replaced by Joao Cancelo for the final 17 minutes of the game.
71'
Huge opportunity for Romagnoli! An attempted 25-yard strike from Suso deflects off an Inter defender and into the path of Romagnoli. The defender does well to muscle his way towards the ball before unleashing a poked volley, but his effort flies high over the crossbar.
69'
Milan continue dominating possession as they keep pushing forward in search of a second goal. They're forced to slow down the pace of their attacking moves, however, as Inter have plenty of bodies camped in front of them.
67'
Big chance for Silva to equalise! The set-piece initially fails to result in a chance on goal for Milan, but they quickly regain possession. A deep cross is then fired over to the far post and finds Silva, who snatches at the ball and sends his half-volleyed effort comfortably wide of the near post.
66'
R. Gagliardini gets yellow.
Borini, who has really impressed since the break, cuts inside from the right flank and flies forward before being clumsily fouled by Gagliardini, resulting in a free-kick for the Rossoneri in a dangerous position.
65'
Milan pile bodies forward as they desperately try to find another equaliser. The ball bounces down to Bonaventura just outside of the Inter penalty area and sets up the midfielder to shoot, but his strike is quickly closed down and deflects behind for a corner.
63'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by I. Perišić.
GOAL! Inter are back in front! Perisic twists and turns over on the left-hand side of the Milan box as he heads towards the byline. He then chips a deft cross over to Icardi, who somehow manages to adjust his body incredibly quickly before firing a world-class volley into the bottom right-hand corner of the net. That was utterly sublime!
Perisic did really well to get into a pocket of space before picking out Icardi, but that was all about the Argentine. How on earth did he twist his body into a position to shoot so quickly?
62'
Excellent save by Handanovic! A looping cross curls over to the far post and picks out Bonaventura in space. The midfielder quickly brings the ball down before shooting, but his low effort is brilliantly stopped down low by Handanovic.
60'
What an opportunity for Vecino to put Inter back in front! Candreva darts down the right flank on a great run before pulling the ball back to Vecino. The Uruguayan is all alone on the edge of the box, but somehow he ends up firing his first-time strike wide of the far post. He really should have buried that!
59'
Borini does well to cause problems for Yuto Nagatomo as he skips down the right wing and into a pocket of space near to the byline. He then fires a low cross towards the near post, where Joao Miranda is just about able to cut out the danger ahead of Cutrone.
58'
Milan quickly win the ball back from Inter from restart, and they push forward on yet another determined attacking move. Borini eventually curls a cross into the heart of the box, but it's slightly overhit and loops into the hands of Handanovic.
56'
Suso has scored a goal for AC Milan! Assist by F. Borini.
GOAL! Milan are back in the game! Suso picks up the ball deep inside the Inter half of the pitch and breaks towards the penalty area before getting a shot away from 20 yards out. It's brilliantly hit by the Spaniard and curls just past the outstretched fingertips of Handanovic on its way into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
It was Borini who set up Suso to shoot, and the Italian has been doing really well over on the right flank since the break. Milan look like a completely different side, and they're now causing all sorts of problems for their rivals.
54'
What an opportunity for Cutrone! An excellent low cross from Rodriguez flies in from the left wing and picks out Cutrone, who makes contact with the ball and sends a first-time shot just wide of the near post. Milan have started the second half brilliantly.
53'
Cutrone sprints through the middle of the Inter back line as he tries to latch onto a lofted pass forward, but his run into the Nerazzurri's penalty area is slightly mistimed and he's quickly flagged offside.
51'
Chance for Borini! The resulting corner initially fails to result in a chance on goal, but the ball is only cleared as far as Borini. He quickly unleashes a 20-yard shot that looks set to find the bottom right-hand corner of the net, but Handanovic does well to get a hand to the strike.
50'
And now Suso goes close! The Spaniard picks up the ball midway inside the Inter half of the pitch before spinning and unleashing a rocket of a shot, and it's an effort that Handanovic is just about able to tip over the crossbar with an excellent diving save.
49'
Milan score, but it's ruled out for offside! Silva twists and turns inside the Inter box before eventually managing to get a shot away. The strike is a good one and smashes off the far post before rolling over to Musacchio, who quickly fires a follow-up shot into the back of the net but is denied an equaliser by the linesman's flag.
48'
Candreva does well over on the right flank before setting up Vecino just outside of the Milan penalty area. The Uruguayan then quickly gets a shot away, but he doesn't hit the ball particularly well and sends his effort comfortably wide of the goal.
46'
P. Cutrone enters the game and replaces F. Kessié.
Milan have decided to make a substitution during the half-time break, with Patrick Cutrone coming on to replace Kessie in an attacking switch.
We're underway once again!
45'
Inter are presented with one final opportunity to launch the ball into the penalty area and carve out a chance on goal, but Valero's lofted pass from a free-kick is slightly overhit and can't quite pick out Perisic at the far post.
44'
Two great chances for Borini! Kessie beautifully spins round Roberto Gagliardini as he charges towards the Inter penalty area on a marauding run. He then sends a great through-ball into the right-hand side of the box and towards Borini, who quickly gets a shot away that's well saved by Handanovic. The ball then bounces back out to the Italian, whose follow-up header is disappointing and can only find the side-netting.
43'
Romagnoli finds himself with the ball at his feet midway inside the Inter half of the pitch after charging forward. He then chips a dangerous cross into the heart of the box and towards Silva, who tries to latch onto the ball in front of goal but loses out to a strong headed clearance from Joao Miranda.
42'
Valero showcases wonderful footwork deep down the right wing as Inter push forward on another determined attacking move. He then sets up Vecino to shoot from the edge of the penalty area, but the Uruguayan's low strike is fired straight into the hands of Donnarumma.
41'
Space opens up for Vecino, allowing the midfielder to charge through the centre of the pitch on a marauding run. He then tees up Candreva over on the right flank, and the winger quickly cuts onto his left foot before firing a low cross into the box that's well dealt with by the Rossoneri.
39'
Franck Kessie receives the ball midway down the right wing and quickly tries to set up Silva inside the Inter penalty area. His cross into the box is completely overhit, however, and it sails straight into the hands of Handanovic at the far post.
37'
Rodriguez loses possession out wide after being put under pressure by D'Ambrosio, allowing the Inter full-back to counter-attack swiftly. He's immediately clattered into by the Switzerland international, however, leaving him in a heap on the floor holding his ankle. He'll be able to continue though.
35'
Icardi picks up the ball inside the Milan penalty area with his back to goal, and he quickly tees up Perisic instead of spinning and shooting. The winger quickly unleashes a strike of his own, but it's poorly hit and sails high over the top of the crossbar.
34'
Bonaventura, who has seen plenty of the ball already, cuts inside from the left flank and heads towards the Inter box, but he's clattered into by Milan Skriniar and wins a free-kick for his side. It's curled into the penalty area and finds Silva, who gets a head on the ball but can't direct it towards goal.
32'
A beautiful pass from Candreva sails over to the left wing as picks out Perisic in a pocket of space. The Croatian quickly cuts inside and takes on Bonucci before shooting, but his low strike is blocked by Musacchio before it can test Donnarumma.
30'
Milan quickly push forward from the restart as they try to find a way back into the game, and they're able to win themselves a corner over on the left flank. It's whipped in by Bonaventura and almost tees up a team-mate, but, once again, Inter are able to clear the danger without too many problems.
28'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Candreva.
Candreva has been criticised for his poor crossing this season, but that really was an excellent ball into the box. He made life incredibly difficult for the Milan centre-backs.
GOAL! Icardi fires Inter into the lead! Candreva is set up by good play from Valero and quickly curls a beautiful cross into the middle of the Milan box. It's perfectly placed by the winger, setting up Icardi to skip ahead of Bonucci before beating Donnarumma with a glancing first-time finish.
26'
Suso steps up and shoots from the resulting free-kick 30 yards away from goal, but the Spaniard's strike is underhit and fails to beat the wall of Inter players camped inside the penalty area.
25'
M. Vecino gets yellow.
The referee's yellow card is out once again, and this time it's Vecino who finds himself on the receiving end after dragging back Bonaventura as the midfielder burst forward. The Inter players aren't happy with that decision, as they believe Biglia handled the ball in the build-up.
23'
Joao Miranda goes close! Valero's cross into the box is a good one, but Icardi is just about able to get a head on it to send the ball over to the left wing. It's picked up by Perisic and swung back into the penalty area, where Joao Miranda rises high and sends a downward header just wide of the near post.
22'
A. Romagnoli gets yellow.
After winning the ball back, it's Inter's turn to counter-attack out wide. Candreva is set up by Perisic and tries to bomb down the right wing, but he's cynically fouled by Alessio Romagnoli and ends up winning his side a free-kick in a promising position.
21'
Vecino loses out to Lucas Biglia and Milan counter-attack quickly. Suso is quickly picked out by the former Lazio midfielder and bursts down the left flank, but Perisic does really well to get back and dispossess the Spaniard with a great tackle.
20'
Milan move the ball around nicely as they keep putting pressure on their rivals. Suso eventually finds himself in a pocket of space 25 yards away from goal and quickly shoots, but his long-range effort bounces safely wide of the far post.
18'
The second corner is sent short before a curling cross sails into the heart of the penalty area, but Ivan Perisic is easily able to get a head on the ball to make sure it can't find a red and black shirt in front of goal.
17'
Giacomo Bonaventura twists and turns over on the left-hand side of the Inter penalty area before firing a low cross off D'Ambrosio and behind for another Milan corner. The set-piece is swung into the box and eventually finds Borini, who fires the ball back into the penalty area and behind for another corner off Matias Vecino.
15'
Miranda gets yellow.
D'Ambrosio loses out over on the right flank, allowing Milan to counter-attack quickly. Silva receives the ball on the halfway line and tries to spin round Joao Miranda, but the Brazilian catches the striker with a late challenge that earns him the first yellow card of the game.
13'
Candreva hits the crossbar! Borja Valero receives the ball deep inside the Milan half of the pitch and quickly moves it over to Candreva just outside of the box. The winger takes a touch and then shoots, and his floating effort smashes the woodwork after beating the outstretched limbs of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
12'
The resulting set-piece is sent short and worked over to Suso, who then curls a looping cross into the penalty area that sails straight into the hands of Samir Handanovic before it can pick out a team-mate in front of goal.
11'
Andre Silva battles hard just outside of the Inter box as he muscles his way through a sea of black and blue shirts. He then sets up Borini to cross, and Ricardo Rodriguez then wins a corner over on the left wing after being quickly closed down by Danilo D'Ambrosio.
9'
There's a brief break in play after Fabio Borini gets winded over on the right wing. Mateo Musacchio does well to cut out the danger on the edge of the Milan penalty area and poke the ball away from Icardi, but it ends up flying straight into the stomach of Borini, momentarily leaving him short of breath.
7'
Candreva cuts inside from the right wing and manages to carve out a pocket of space for himself in the middle of the pitch. He then tries to pick out Icardi with a chipped pass into the box, where Leonardo Bonucci does well to blast the ball out for a throw-in.
5'
An early Milan corner fails to result in a chance on goal, allowing Inter to quickly counter-attack. They work the ball around nicely before Candreva swings in a cross from the right flank, but it's poorly hit by the winger and the ball sails behind for a goal-kick.
3'
Antonio Candreva picks up the ball midway inside the Inter half of the pitch and immediately tries to find Mauro Icardi with a lofted pass up the pitch. His ball forward is hit over the Milan defence and towards the striker, but his run is slightly mistimed and the linesman's flag is quickly raised.

We're off! Milan get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Serie A game between Inter and AC Milan at San Siro.
Tonight’s addition of the Derby della Madonnina pits the Milanese rivals against one another for the 219th time, and it brings together two revitalised clubs that are desperate to re-establish themselves at the top of Serie A after several years of disappointment. Inter head into this evening’s big clash in the better form, and a seventh win in eight games would keep them just two points behind early pacesetters Napoli.
While things haven’t been entirely plain-sailing for the Nerazzurri thus far, they are nonetheless performing much better under new boss Luciano Spalletti than they were when Stefano Pioli was at the helm. Gritty, hard-working performances have seen them already get the better of Fiorentina and Roma, and tonight’s game represents another challenge that will test just how strong the title-chasers now are.
As for Milan, they splashed the cash with almost reckless abandon over the summer in a desperate attempt to close the gap between themselves and the Serie A’s main frontrunners, but, despite a positive start to the season, things aren’t quite working for them at the moment. They’ve already been beaten by Lazio, Sampdoria and Roma, showing just how much more work needs to be done before they can be considered a top side again.
Milan’s Chinese-backed project will no doubt take time to come to fruition, but it remains to be seen how much time Vincenzo Montella will be given if results don’t soon improve. A defeat tonight would leave the Rossoneri without a point from their last three games for only the second time in the last two and a quarter years and would send their rivals 10 points and seven places clear just eight games into the campaign.
Both of last season’s meetings ended in close-fought 2-2 draws, with late goals salvaging points for the “away” sides on those days. It’s now over two years since Inter last won a derby contest, while it’s just under seven years since Milan were victorious in the Derby della Madonnina as a “visitor”. They did enjoy the fixture’s last win, however, as they comfortably beat their rivals 3-0 back in January 2016.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Inter XI (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Joao Miranda; Nagatomo; Gagliardini, Valero; Candreva, Vecino, Perisic; Icardi.
Milan substitutes: Calabria, Mauri, Gomez, Zapata, Montolivo, Abate, Paletta, Storari, Gabbia, Cutrone, Locatelli, Antonio Donnarumma.
Milan XI (3-5-2): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Musacchio, Bonucci, Romagnoli; Borini, Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura, Rodriguez; Suso, Silva.
Luciano Spalletti has decided to make just one change to the Inter side that started the 2-1 victory away to Benevento two weeks ago, with Marcelo Brozovic making way for Roberto Gagliardini, pushing Matias Vecino up into the number 10 role.
Meanwhile, Milan boss Vinenzo Montella has made two alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Nikola Kalinic making way for Giacomo Bonaventura and Suso, respectively.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off. The atmosphere inside the stadium is electric, with both sets of fans in fine voice.
HALF-TIME: INTER 1-0 MILAN
So far, so good for Inter, who have certainly been the better of the two sides and head into the half-time break with a well-deserved one-goal lead. They've caused plenty of problems for Milan on the break and have looked particularly dangerous out wide, where both Perisic and Candreva have performed well. It was the latter who set up Icardi to fire the Nerazzurri into the lead, and since then their rivals have struggled to find a way back into the game.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: INTER 3-2 MILAN
Blimey, what a game that was! After suffering a tough and disappointing first half, Milan thoroughly impressed in the second period and did brilliantly to fight back and equalise twice. It looked as if they were going to leave with a well-earned, and much-needed, point, but Icardi popped up right at the death to fire in a late winner for the Nerazzurri and wrap up an historic hat-trick.
The victory means Inter, who have only dropped two points so far this campaign, remain two points behind league leaders, and next weekend's opponents, Napoli in second place. Milan, meanwhile, have now lost three consecutive games, leaving them in 10th place ahead of their next clash against Genoa.
