We're underway at last at the Allianz Arena.
It will be an emotional day for those two men and supporters across the world - who have taken great joy from seeing their ply their trade on the pitch over the last 20 years.
Alonso has also enjoyed a very successful career, spanning 18 years. He has won three titles on the bounce with Bayern since moving to the club in 2014. Before that he won the LaLiga crown with Real Madrid and two Champions League trophies - one with the Spanish outfit and the other with Liverpool. The 35-year-old was also part of the Spain side that triumphed at the 2010 World Cup.
It will be an especially emotional day for Lahm as he ends his 22-year career - all spent with Bayern. In that period he has made over 500 appearances for the club and won eight Bundesliga crowns along with the Champions League. Not to mention his international triumph with Germany at the 2014 World Cup - what a career he has enjoyed.
However, we will also say goodbye to two legends of the game - Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso, who will play their last competitive match this afternoon after two great careers in the sport.
Bayern have now won five titles on the bounce and due to the young core of players in their squad - their run of success seems like it will not come to an end anytime soon.
It's a day of celebration for Bayern as they will lift the Bundesliga crown following their outstanding campaign. Carlo Ancelotti's men will finish the season comfortably ahead of second-place RB Leipzig, highlighting their dominance at the top of the league.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Freiberg at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern will be determined to send both men off with a victory, which will be their fourth on the spin to end the campaign.
Freiburg have enjoyed an impressive campaign and are currently sitting in sixth place. Christian Streich's men have their sights set on a place in the Europa League and will need at least a point to hang on to their placing this afternoon.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Lahm and Alonso start from the off in their final fixture. It would be no surprise to see them substituted late on in order to receive standing ovations.
Bayern have made three changes from their incredible win over RB Leipzig last time out. Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Arturo Vidal come into the fold this afternoon, replacing Thiago Alcantara, Franck Ribery and Joshua Kimmich - who drop to the bench.
Freiburg have made two changes from their 1-1 draw against Ingoldstadt last time out. Vincenzo Griffo and Mike Frantz come into the midfield this afternoon to replace Amir Abrashi and Onur Bulut, with the latter missing out due to a toe injury.
Lahm leads Bayern on to the pitch for the final time. We should be underway very shortly.
There will be a few presentations before kick-off, including a picture for keeper Tom Starke - who also makes his final appearance before retirement.
The future retirees are receiving quite the send off and some unusual gifts before we get underway here.
Starke and Alonso receive some sort of a decorative gift, while Lahm gets a new set of golf clubs. That's what you get for 20 years of quality service.
HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 1-0 FREIBURG
Incredibly this match has only had one goal, which came in the fourth minute through Arjen Robben to hand Bayern Munich a half-time lead. The home side have been all over Freiburg, but have been frustrated in their bid to notch futher strikes this afternoon.
Alexander Schwolow has had a solid game between the stick thus far fro Freiburg to keep his side within striking distance. The visitors have had their moments at the other end of the pitch, with Mike Frantz and Vincenzo Grifo being denied by Tom Starke, while Janik Haberer put an effort wide from close range.
The players are back out for the second half, but we cannot kick-off until Anastacia finishes the half-time entertainment.
The half-time stage and Anastacia are gone. So now we can get back underway.
FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 4-1 FREIBURG
Bayern send Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso off in style with an emphatic win over Freiburg this afternoon. They were far from their best in front of goal, but found their form late on to increase their margin of victory.
Arjen Robben was outstanding with one goal and two assists today, and he started the scoring with a finish in the fourth minute. Arturo Vidal notched the home side's second, but Nils Petersen dragged Freiburg back into the game. However, two late strikes from Franck Ribery and Joshua Kimmich put the icing on the cake for Carlo Ancelotti's men.
The only blemish today was the fact that Robert Lewandowski missed out on the golden boot as he failed to find the net, despite boasting a plethora of chances. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brace for Borussia Dortmund today means that the award will be heading for the Gabonese rather than the Pole. Still 30 goals in a season is still a huge achievement for Bayern man.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
