There has been tonnes of attacking flair and ambition in this game, but perhaps now the time has come for both sides to shut up shop and accept the hard-fought point, which will go down pretty well in both camps. Both Guardiola and Klopp have made defensive changes, too.
90' +1
FOUR minutes of time have been signalled by the referee. City very nearly come close to getting the winner too as Aguero latches on to a loose chip at the back post, only to baloon a strike miles over from a great position. Guardiola though he was going to smash it home!
89'
S. Mané gets yellow.
Lucas Leiva enters the game and replaces Roberto Firmino.
Meanwhile, Klopp makes a change as Firmino comes off for Lucas.
A late yellow card here and the legs are definitely starting to go now, as Mane proves as he completely scythes down Silva inside the Manchester City half.
87'
Aguero has become a master of sorts of darting ahead of his marker to turn a strike on goal at the front post, and does so once again here as he gets beyond Matip, but just can't divert this one on goal as the Cameroonian defends fairly well in the end to usher him out of the danger area.
85'
Can we find a winner in the last five minutes of this game? A draw is actually a fair result over the course of things, but both sides could certainly make the cause that they deserve the win also.
83'
Fernando enters the game and replaces L. Sané.
Manchester City are flooding players forward here but it is meaning Liverpool are looking VERY dangerous on the counter. They should actually go 2-1 up on this occasion as Firmino runs freely through on goal before being closed down, only to opt to have the strike on goal rather than picking out Lallana inside! That is unbelievable he didn't make the pass!
81'
OH DEAR AN ABSOLUTE SITTER FROM LALLANA! Can and Firmino link-up with a beautiful exhcange of passes on the edge of the box and the latter then cushions a perfect pull-back for his team-mate, who takes his eye completely off the ball to fluff his lines in front of the goalkeeper! He can't believe it!
79'
We may as well be watching a basketball match at the moment as that is the way the play is going! It really is end-to-end stuff as both sides are going for the win, so fair play to all concerned!
77'
Silva comes deep to see the ball this time and turns sharply beyond a couple of challenges before dinking a pass down the left wing for Sane. However, the former Schalke man's touch lets him down as he attempts to burst quickly into the box past Clyne. Disappointing.
75'
CITY HIT THE WOODWORK! Aguero bulldozes his way into the Liverpool penalty area and then exchanges a superb one-two with Silva, only for the ball to eventually break free to De Bruyne. The Belgian is forced to take the attempt quickly, but can only manage to slam a strike off the outside of the post!
Minute
Description
73'
D. Origi enters the game and replaces Philippe Coutinho.
First substitution from Jurgen Klopp and it sees Coutinho leave the action in favour of Divock Origi, who certainly can provide a threat on the counter with his pace. Lets see if the Belgian can make a positive impact off the bench.
71'
Twenty minutes to go in this fabulous Premier League encounter and all of a sudden the impetus is back with Manchester City who have their tails up after equalising. Do we have a winner here or will the honours remain even after 90 minutes?
69'
S. Agüero has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by K. De Bruyne.
Outstanding cross from De Bruyne for the assist!
GOOOOOAAAALLLL FOR MAN CITY! We are all-square! De Bruyne, who has moved out to a wider position in this second period, is given plenty of space on this occasion which allows him to whip an absolutely perfect low cross into the centre of the box for Aguero, who diverts a strike home with his first touch! One-one! GAME ON!
67'
Sterling does really well to evade a couple of tackles inside the centre circle before finding Silva, who in turn moves ahead himself. He picks out a cross to the back post for Aguero which is eventually cleared to the byline towards Sane, but the pass back inside from the German is cleared by the retreating Lallana.
65'
B. Sagna enters the game and replaces Y. Touré.
First change of the match now and it comes from Guardiola. Leaving the action is Toure, who has looked really fatigued in the past 10 minutes or so, and he will be replaced by Sagna, which will mean Fernandinho coming back into his favoured position in central midfield.
63'
Otamendi makes a superb tackle inside his own box to dispossess Mane which subsequently catalyses a counter for City. Sterling leads the charge with a powerful run beyond Can on the left wing, but them lets himself down with the next piece of play as he sends a wayward pass back into Liverpool's hands.
61'
VITAL STOP FROM CABALLERO! Firmino runs off Toure in midfield and latches on to a pass through the middle before finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. However, he comes out second best on this occasion as the big goalkeeper makes the solid save at the front post.
59'
Silva is desperately trying to move up alongside Aguero and put pressure on the Liverpool defence whenever they are on the ball. However, the hosts need to move up altogether and not just individually as Klopp's men are just easily popping passes around in neat little triangles.
57'
Liverpool are brimming with confidence after grabbing that opening goal and they actually look the most likely side currently to go on and get the second of the afternoon. City have just been knocked a bit by going behind, but they have plenty of time to recover which is the good news for them.
55'
OH JUST WIDE FROM STONES! De Bruyne whips a teasing cross into the centre of the box and his team-mate rises high to get the header away of his marker, but the attempt just flashes the wrong side of the post. The former Everton man should have maybe did better with that one!
54'
A slightly defensive change from Guardiola here as Sane comes off for Fernando.
53'
The City players, fans, and indeed Guardiola are all pretty annoyed by that penalty decision from the referee as it did appear that Clichy got a SLIGHT touch on the ball inside the box in the altercation with Firmino. However, he came right through the back of him and stopped the chance!
51'
Penalty goal scored by J. Milner for Liverpool!
GOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLL FOR LIVERPOOL! The visitors take the lead! Milner steps up against his former club and fires a cracking spotkick into the left corner! Caballero no chance! One-nil.
50'
G. Clichy gets yellow.
David Silva gets yellow.
Silva sees yellow for his protests.
Clichy is booked for his trouble.
49'
PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL! Clichy gets the completely wrong side of Firmino inside the box and ends up hacking down the Brazilian before he can pull the trigger!
48'
It should be interesting to see how both sides approach this second period as there is a lot riding on the game with regards to the top four. However, both Manchester City and Liverpool only really know one way of playing, and that is attack!
46'
We are back under way at the Etihad!
45'
Two minutes of added time have been allocated by the referee and we probably won't see too many men bombing forward before the break as both sides will be relatively content with the scoreline.
43'
J. Matip gets yellow.
Matip sees yellow now for a late challenge on Aguero. That one is probably deserved, and indeed needless too!
42'
CABALLERO TO THE RESCUE AGAIN! A corner is swung into the box which the Argentine initially does poorly to punch away only to the edge of the box. However, he makes up for this by tipping over a cracking half-volley from Lallana who had previously latched on to the loose bit of possession.
40'
SAAAAVE FROM CABALLERO! Firmino receives the ball to feet and turns sharply in the final third before moving inside on his right foot. Like Coutinho, the Brazilian attempts to whip a strike into the far corner but the City goalkeeper matches it with a commanding palm to the left-hand side!
38'
HOW ON EARTH HAVE CITY NOT SCORED?! De Bruyne threads a beauty of a pass through the channel for Silva in plenty of space who picks out a perfect cross into the six-yard box. All Sterling has to do is let the ball hit him, but somehow gives Milner opportunity to come in and make the sensational goal-saving tackle!
36'
HEADER WIDE FROM MATIP! Milner stands over a free-kick down the right having taking over duties from Coutinho. The delivery is much better this time for Liverpool as the big defender meets it at the back post, but can only manage to send a header off-target whilst under pressure from Otamendi. Good defending in the end.
34'
Coutinho gets the ball to feet in his favourite position on the edge of the box just to the left-hand side and easily skips past the challenge of Fernandinho before pulling the trigger. Normally he can curl those right into the corner but this attempt goes just wide, much like the majority of his strikes in recent weeks!
32'
Milner has been so busy dealing with Silva and Sterling that he has barely had the opportunity to get forward himself. He does on this occasion after a lovely bit of skill and sends a looping cross ominously to the back post, with Firmino the target, but Stones rises high to clear the danger with the header.
30'
We are certainly being treated to a hell of a duel down that left wing as pace meets pace through Sane and Clyne. The German has perhaps just got the better of his direct opponent so far this afternoon, but the Liverpool man is getting some joy on the overlap from full-back, too.
28'
A small break in play at the moment as Matip is currently down injured after take a sore one to the face from the arm of Otamendi. There was not intent in the altercation from either player, and the Cameroonian will be okay to continue anyway.
26'
Silva receives the ball to feet on the edge of the box and sends a delightful first-time pass into space for the onrushing Sane, who sends another wicked cross to the back post. Sterling looks poised to pass into the empty net, but Klavan JUST manages to stick out a leg to turn behind for the corner.
24'
PENALTY SHOUT FOR LIVERPOOL! Mane displays his electric pace down the left wing to get beyond Otamendi into the area, only to go down under the retreating challenge from the Argentine. However, the referee makes the correct decision as there was NO intended foul from the City defender!
22'
Y. Touré gets yellow.
Toure is the latest player to go into the book now as he goes in late on Can inside the City half. Some would speculate that it could indeed have been a red as the Ivorian caught the Liverpool man actually on the top of the shoulder, but there wasn't too much force behind it. A view the referee shares.
20'
INCHES WIDE FROM SILVA! The home side break quickly through the centre as Sterling releases Silva down the left channel. The German hits the byline before drilling a cross inside which breaks to Silva at the back post, but the subsequent strike on goal is half-volleyed JUST the wrong side of the post!
18'
Coutinho has had two set-piece opportunities so far for Liverpool in cracking positions in the final third but on both occasions the delivery has been awful. The second one is actually clipped off the first available City defender which makes it easy for Sterling to clear from the loose ball at right full-back.
16'
Roberto Firmino gets yellow.
First booking of the match now and it deservedly goes to Firmino for coming through the back of Silva in the middle of midfield. There isn't a lot of difference in level of offence to Can's challenge on De Bruyne, though...
14'
Sterling picks up the ball down the right wing and flashes a pass into midfield for Silva. The Spaniard then returns the favour, first-time, with a glorious ball into the channel for his team-mate who bursts ahead to cross in to the near post, but Matip gets there just in the nick of time before Aguero. Great move from City!
12'
Silva manages to get in a great position the wrong side of the Liverpool defence on the left channel before reverting back to De Bruyne. The Belgian takes the touch into space and then fires a cross-cum-shot low towards the bottom corner, but his compatriot, Mignolet, does well to get down and turn behind for the corner. Unclear whether he meant that one!
10'
City look to break quickly through the middle of the park as De Bruyne bursts into space, but he is stopped in his tracks by Can who hauls him back by the jersey. Incredibly, the referee opts not to brandish the yellow card for the German, who is grateful as he runs back.
8'
Without jinxing things too much, we really should be seeing plenty of goals this afternoon. This should be the case with a Klopp and Guardiola side going against each other anyway, but we have the added element of the weather which should see mistakes become more prominent too.
6'
You would think that, with the surface so incredibly slick due to the rain, that it would perhaps suit City more with the intricate passing in the final third. However, Liverpool could certainly utilise the pace of Mane on that right flank to get some joy in behind Clichy.
4'
Mane is fouled by Otamendi down the right and Coutinho takes the subsequent free-kick, but it is disappointing from the Brazilian as the delivery evades everyone.
3'
A cracking start to the match here as the rain crashes on to the surface in Manchester. City enjoy the very early stages with a couple of ventures forward, with Sterling particularly prominent, but Liverpool are quick to retreat before any trouble is caused at the back.

We are under way at the Etihad!
Good afternoon football fans! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the English Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool from the Etihad Stadium.
The last clash between Manchester City and Liverpool took place on New Years Eve, once again in the Premier League. On that occasion at Anfield, the Reds secured the narrow 1-0 win thanks to an early goal from Georginio Wijnaldum. Interestingly, the last time Liverpool travelled to the Etihad like today they turned in one of their best performances in Jurgen Klopp's entire tenure as they won 4-1 against Manuel Pellegrini's side at the time.
It has been a week of huge disappointment for Manchester City as on Wednesday evening they were knocked out of the Champions League last-16 at the hands of Monaco after failing to maintain their lead from the first leg. That was the first time Pep Guardiola has failed to guide one of his teams to at the least a semi-final in the competition, so he will certainly be wanting a massive response from his charges today.
With Chelsea seemingly running away with the championship, and picking up the late win against Stoke yesterday, it seems the other big-hitters in England's top-flight may have to settle for battling for Champions League positions. Two of these such teams meet each other today in what is sure to be a cracker.
TEAM NEWS...
Manchester City (4-1-4-1): Caballero; Fernandinho, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy; Yaya Toure; Sane, De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling; Aguero.
Manchester City subs: Bravo, Sagna, Fernando, Nolito, Kolarov, Iheanacho, A. Garcia.
Liverpool subs: Karius, Lovren, Moreno, Alexander-Arnold, Lucas, Origi, Woodburn.
The teams are making their way to the pitch and we are almost ready for kick-off!
Half-time at the Etihad. It may be 0-0 between Manchester City and Liverpool but it has been a pulsating encounter nonetheless with plenty of chances coming and going for both sets up players. Hopefully we will see some goals in the second period!
Full-time at the Etihad. Manchester City and Liverpool share the points in this Premier League clash after a fantastic 1-1 draw. Milner gave the visitors the lead in the first half from the penalty spot as both sides continue to miss a plethora of chances, but it was eventually Aguero who popped up with the equaliser for Guardiola's side. Thanks for joining us, see you next time.
