77'
Another chance for Silva! 74'
Clichy, who has looked a bit suspect over on the left wing, is beaten by Cameron far too easily as the American pushes forward on a rare charging run. He skips past the Frenchman and then curls a low cross into the box, but it fails to find a red and white shirt and is well dealt with by the home side.
72'

54'
L. Sané gets yellow.
De Bruyne and Sane link up well just outside of the Stoke penalty area before the latter tries to skip into it. He looks to have beaten Bardsley before going down and claiming that he had been fouled, but the referee isn't having any of it and brandishes a yellow card for diving.
53'
De Bruyne charges through the middle of the pitch on a great run before trying to tee up Aguero, but he's unable to do so and sends a poor pass straight to Martins Indi. Man City fail to break down Stoke's resolute back line once again, forcing Fernandinho into unleashing a long-range strike that deflects out for a corner. De Bruyne steps up and curls a deep cross towards the edge of the penalty area, but Aguero is unable to get the ball under decent control and loses out to Bardsley before he can spin and shoot.
40'

38'
Allen is caught by a late challenge from Toure, and Stoke are awarded a free-kick in a promising position. It's thumped into the Man City penalty area and finds Diouf over on the right-hand side, but his attempted half-volley is poorly hit and sails several yards over the top of the crossbar.

He heads towards the halfway line and tees up De Bruyne, who then plays a beautiful through-ball into the path of Sane, but the German's run into the penalty area is slightly mistimed and the linesman's flag is quickly raised as a result.

After successfully bringing the Stoke attacking move to an end, Man City fly forward on one of their own, but a poor cross from Clichy fails to find either Aguero or Sane and bounces harmlessly out of play for a goal-kick.
32'
Toure handles the ball on purpose and gives away a free-kick on the halfway line. It's thumped forward and finds Sobhi over on the left wing, and the Egyptian then spins to pick out Cameron. The American is unable to set up Diouf inside the penalty area, however, and Kolarov just about deals with the danger.
31'
Man City patiently work the ball around midway inside the Stoke half of the pitch as they try to carve out a rare chance on goal, but, once again, their attacking move lacks the intensity needed to trouble the visitors and the Potters are easily able to hold on.
29'
Otamendi pushes into the Stoke half of the pitch and then tries to pick out Sane with a thumping lofted pass up towards the penalty area, but Bardsley does well to dive in front of the winger before nodding the ball safely into the hands of Grant.

23'

21'
The ball pinballs around the middle of the pitch as both sides fail to get it under full control. It eventually falls to Toure, who then tries to set up Navas with an excellent pass down the right wing, but Martins Indi is there to cut out the danger with a great sliding tackle.
19'
Diouf is taken out by a hefty challenge on the halfway line, but the referee doesn't believe he was taken down by a foul and allows play to go on. Man City move the ball around quickly before Aguero shoots from 25 yards out, but his strike is closed down quickly and ends up being deflected out for a corner.
17'
Kolarov commits a clumsy foul on Walters over on the right flank, resulting in a free-kick for Stoke. It's whipped into the penalty area and finds Martins Indi in a promising position, but it takes him by surprise and he can only shin a shot into the hands of Caballero.
15'
Vital clearance by Bacary Sagna! A half-hearted Man City attack breaks down and Stoke hit them on a swift counter. Saido Berahino charges through the middle of the pitch before teeing up Ramadan Sobhi, who beautifully beats Nicolas Otamendi on the left-hand side of the box. The Egyptian then cuts inside and fires a low cross towards Diouf, but he's unable to pick out the striker and loses out to Sagna.
13'
Aguero is picked out on the edge of the box once again, and this time he's able to get the better of Bruno Martins Indi before spinning and finding Fernandinho. The Brazilian is in acres of space and comfortably finds Toure inside the penalty area, but the Ivorian's attempted pass back to the midfielder is poor and fails to reach him.
11'
Aguero picks up the ball just outside of the Stoke penalty area and tries to spin round Phil Bardsley, but the defender sticks close to the striker and does well to out-muscle him. He then tries to burst away on a marauding run, but De Bruyne is there to stop it with a hefty shoulder-barge.
9'
Jonathan Walters is dispossessed on the halfway line, allowing De Bruyne to pick up the ball and immediately launch it out to Navas. The Spaniard takes it down well before swinging a cross towards Sergio Aguero, but it's slightly overhit and can only find the head of Joe Allen.
7'
Leroy Sane is able to get on the ball for the first time this evening and immediately ploughs down the left flank, but he's unable to beat Ryan Shawcross and loses out to the defender on the right-hand side of the penalty area. The two then battle for the ball once again further down the wing, and, once again, it's the Stoke centre-back who comes out on top.
6'
Great chance for Mame Biram Diouf! Erik Pieters gets himself into a pocket of space deep down the left wing before curling a lovely cross into the heart of the penalty area. Clichy slips as he tries to deal with the ball and allows Diouf to reach it, but the striker is unable to beat Willy Caballero with his first-time half-volley from close range.
5'
A poor touch from Yaya Toure gifts Stoke with a chance to counter quickly through Geoff Cameron, but the Ivorian does well to close down the midfielder before poking the ball out for a throw-in with a sliding tackle from behind.
3'
Man City patiently pass the ball around inside the Stoke half of the pitch before Jesus Navas tees up Kevin De Bruyne, who then wins the hosts an early corner. It's sent short and worked over to Gael Clichy, who decides against swinging a cross into the box and instead pokes the ball back to Aleksandar Kolarov on the halfway line.

We're off! Stoke get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League game between Manchester City and Stoke City at the Etihad Stadium.
Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane both got their names on the scoresheet in Sunday’s win away to Sunderland, and the game against the Premier League’s bottom side proved to be another comfortable one for Pep Guardiola’s men, who have looked far more assured over the past few weeks than they did towards the end of last year. At home they remain particularly strong, with only Chelsea managing to beat them so far.
Bar a somewhat tepid contest against Huddersfield Town three weeks ago, 2017 has proven to be a positive period for Man City, who are unbeaten in their last nine league games across all competitions. A four-game winning run in the league has seen them climb back towards the top of the table, and another victory here tonight will result in them leapfrogging Tottenham Hotspur and moving to within eight points of leaders Chelsea.
As for Stoke, they enjoyed an easy 2-0 win at home to out-of-form Middlesbrough in their previous league encounter, and it was a victory that moved them back into the top half of the table. Despite this, it’s been a slightly frustrating month or so for the Potters, who have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six league games.
Thanks to their impressive recent form, Man City start the evening the favourites to leave with all three points, and they certainly have recent history on their side. August’s meeting at the Bet365 Stadium saw them thump Stoke 4-1, whilst the Potters have only managed to win on one of their previous 12 visits to this part of Manchester, with that victory coming in the old First Division before both teams were relegated at the end of the 1997/98 season.
Stoke City substitutes: Given, Muniesa, Imbula, Adam, Whelan, Afellay, Crouch.
Stoke City XI (4-2-3-1): Grant; Bardsley, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Pieters; Cameron, Allen; Berahino, Sobhi, Walters; Diouf.
Manchester City substitutes: Bravo, Zabaleta, Stones, Delph, Nolito, Silva, Iheanacho.
Manchester City XI (4-1-4-1): Caballero; Sagna, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy; Fernandinho; Navas, Toure, De Bruyne, Sane; Aguero.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Pep Guardiola has decided to make three changes to the Man City side that started the win against Sunderland on the weekend, with Nicolas Otamendi, Kevin De Bruyne and Jesus Navas coming into the starting line-up to replace John Stones, David Silva and Raheem Sterling, respectively.
Meanwhile, Stoke boss Mark Hughes has made four alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with Glen Johnson, Glenn Whelan, Marko Arnautovic and Peter Crouch making way for Phil Bardsley, Saido Berahino, Jonathan Walters and Mame Biram Diouf.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 STOKE CITY
A few groans ring around the stadium as the two sets of players make their way off the pitch, and it's certainly been one of those games so far. Man City have dominated possession but done very little with it, as their attacking moves seem to lack the zip and creativity that usually characterises them. Stoke are clearly set up to defend, and that's exactly what they've done, with each outfield player willing to drop deep to frustrate the home side's stuttering front line.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 STOKE CITY
The referee blows his whistle for the final time and the group of Stoke fans camped in the corner of the stadium go wild. Their side certainly did wonderfully well to hold Man City to a very impressive point, although the home side were certainly far from their best and should have done more in front of goal.
The disappointing draw means that Man City remain in third place, although they now sit equal on points with second-place Tottenham. Stoke, meanwhile, lie three points clear of Southampton in ninth, although they have played two games more than the Saints.
