Only three matches have been played by Sweden in the 2011 Women's World Cup qualifying campaign, but the Scandinavians are already with one foot in the finals. On Wednesday, Belgium were brushed aside 1-4.
Belgian fans in Leuven could only watch as favorites Sweden built up a comfortable lead. Caroline Seger scored in the 24th minute and repeated that in the 65th, for Jessica Landström to add a third three minutes later.
Femke Maes then gave the Belgians something to cheer about in minute 71, but Sara Linden had the final say, 1-4 with four minutes to go.
Sweden had already won their first two games and have a very comfortable lead in Group 8 of the European qualifiers.
The biggest surprise of the day occurred in the city of Lovech, where Bulgaria surprisingly held Denmark to a goalless draw. With seven points from three games, the Danish ladies are still in first place in Group 3 but Scotland may soon begin to form a threat.
Hungary drew 1-1 with Romania and remain on top in Group 4. Romania's Cosmina Dusa opened the score after 68 minutes at Sopron's Varosi stadium, but Rita Mery avoided an Hungarian defeat with an equaliser in the 82nd.
