Germany beat France 5-1

Germany were unstoppable in their second UEFA Women's Championship match, crushing France 5-1 to secure a spot in the quarter finals.

The defending champions, who could win the tournament for the fifth consecutive time, needed just nine minutes for Inka Grings to open the score, heading in from a Birgit Prinz corner kick.

Annike Krahn then powered a distance shot past the opposing keeper in the 17th minute, and Melanie Behringer made it 3-0 from a free kick just before half time.

Bresonik added the fourth from the penalty spot in minute 47, although France pulled one back through Thiney in the 51st.

Germany had the final say though, as Simone Laudehr made it 5-1 in injury time after receiving the ball from Prinz.
