ZEIST, Sep 15 (SW) – Eight times Dutch champions Saestum have held Turbine Potsdam to a 2-2 draw on home soil. play was suspended for five minutes when referee Anna de Toni made a bad impression after calling off a goal which she previously gave.

The first half was fairly even. Turbine was attacking using the flanks. After twenty minutes Turbine Potsdam hit the far post after a cross. On 22 minutes Saestum came surprisingly in front by Gilanne Louwaars, who tipped in when a Shirley Smith cross bounced away from Turbine goalkeeper Nadine Angerer.

Just three minutes later Turbines goalqueen Conny Pohlers made it square. A high ball bounced towards Pohlers, who lobbed the ball over Saestum goalie Angela Christ. Eight minutes before the break Ariana Hingst lost the ball close to the box after pressing by Saestum. The ball rolled in front of Manon van den Boogaard who scored. Saestum could not hold out for long. Six minutes later it was again Conny Pohlers that scored in the long corner after a Anouk Hoogendijk mistake.

The second half Turbine started pressing and placed lots of counter attacks. In the 66th minute referee Anna de Toni from Italy made a bad impression. Ariana Hingst was fouled in the penalty box, but Isabell Kerschowski scored after that. De Toni gave the goal, but took back that decision moments later. It was stated that she whistled for penalty before the goal was struck. Five minutes of deliberations with the finnish fourth official Anri Saarivaino ended in the decision to give Turbine Potsdam a penalty. The penalty was shot wide of the left post by Isabell Kerschowski.

Five minutes from time Saesum got their last big opportunity when Dominique Vugts header was saved by Nadine Angerer. The draw was a succes for Dutch women's football. The games on last matchday will now be deciding.
