Turbine out of UEFA Women's Cup

POTSDAM, Oct 18 (SW) - Turbine Potsdam is kicked out of the UEFA Women's Cup after a the could not do more then a 2-1 win against Brondby IF. Last season the women from Germany reached the final. On 45 minutes Bettina Falk Hansen gave the defintive blow by scoring the all important 0-1 for Brondby IF.

The over 1,100 spectators at Karl-Liebknecht Stadion saw an even first half. With big changes for both teams. Turbine pressed to get an all important early goal and got their changes. But also Brondby IF got two big changes. But it was a surprise shot from 16 metres that gave Brondby IF the deciding away goal they needed just before half time. Nadine Angerer couldn't reach the ball from Bettina Falk Hansen. Turbine now had to win 5-1.

Just after halftime it was Ariane Hingst who scored the fast equalizer from an identical situation as the first goal. Tine Cederkvist could not see the ball shot from again aroudn 16 metres. After the 1-1 Turbine pressed for some minutes, getting three corner kicks. But after that the game was quite boring.

Brondby IF even got a big chance but Stine Kjaer Jensen hit the keeper. In the dying seconds it was Britta Carlson who scored the 2-1 for Turbine Potsdam from a counter-attack. But at that moment changes for Turbine were long gone.
