Turbine crash against Brondby IF

COPENHAGEN, Oct 11 (SW) - Brondby IF have won the UEFA Women's Cup first leg against favourites Turbine Potsdam with a surprise 3-0 win. Already in the 7th minute te Danish squad opened the score through Cathrine Paaske-Sorensen.
697 official spectators in the Brøndby-Stadion with a capacity of 30,000 saw Brondby IF dominating more or less the whole game. The 1-0 by Catherine Paaske-Sorensen was a corner headed in nicely, with goalkeeper Nadine Angerer not looking good. In the first half Paaske-Sorensen had another big change when she came one on one with Angerer, but this time the Potsdam goalkeeper saved. The last five/ten minutes Turbine came back in the game without having big changes. At half time coach Bernd Schroder (Potsdam) stated that his team was lucky not to be back more then 1-0. Ten minutes in the second half it was again Brondby IF that scored, Stine Kjaer Dimun scored from a counter-attack after getting the ball from Lene Jensen. Turbine tried to come back into the game but more then one shot on the keeper was not in it today. It was even the Danes that got more changes. In the end youngster Kicki Nielsen scored the 3-0 from again a counter-attack. Nielsen did not fell in the offside trap and tipped the ball passed Angerer when she came one on one with her.
