RAISIO, Apr 23 (SW) – Sporting Club Raisio faced Kuopion Mimmifutis Saturday afternoon in their first home game of the season. Leaving KMF Kuopio already with their third loss. The match ended exciting, with three goals in the last three minutes.
SCR started out strong but were not able to capitalize on their chances. Tiia Tikkanen got behind the KMF defense in the first minute but SCR forwards did not manage to put the ball in from the cross. Soon after that Noora Kärpijoki found Eveliina Kohvakka open just outside the box. Her shot however, hit the left post. After the first 15 minutes the pace slowed down a bit with SCR still controlling the game but not creating many quality opportunities to score. On the 25th minute Anna Bang sent a long ball into the KMF penalty area from the left side. After a couple of bounces Mira Jalonen was there to head it in and make it 1-0 for SCR. The second half continued with SCR possessing the ball in the midfield but not getting too many chances. After a miscalculation by the SCR defense on the 53rd minute KMF’s Anna Auvinen was left wide open behind the defensive line but Maiju Virta was there to make a big save for the home team. SCR had a great chance to make their lead more comfortable when Anna Helenius found Eeva Kiviranta behind the KMF defense but her shot was deflected by a defender tracking back. On the 88th minute a clearance by SCR ended up in the feet of KMF’s Neea Berg. Her shot to the upper 90 from 20 meters out tied the game at 1-1. SCR however where not content with the tie and wasted no time getting forward. Only a minute after the equalizer Eeva Kiviranta crossed the ball in from the left and Mira Jalonen headed it in. To cap off her day and complete the hat trick Jalonen scored again on injury time to seal the win for SCR. SC Raisio – KMF Kuopio 3-1 (1-0) Goals: 25. Mira Jalonen 1-0, 88. Neea Berg 1-1, 89.
