HAMBURG, Apr 9 (SW) - Hamburg continue to threaten Bayern Munich at the top of the German Bundesliga, beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0.

Hamburger SV - Borussia M'gladbach 1-0

Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart converted a spotkick to put Hamburg ahead in the 34th minute. This goal seemed to be the only, until Naohiro Takahara added a second just before the full time whistle.

Duisburg - Schalke 04 1-1

Schalke were held to a disappointing draw at last-placed Duisburg, who even seemed to be heading for a win after Christian Poulsen's own goal in the 40th minute.

However, Schalke eventually managed to secure a point as Soren Larsen equalized with five minutes to go in regular time.
