GLASGOW, Sep 1 (SW) – Former Torino marksman Filippo Maniero can dream of featuring in the UEFA Champions League after completing a move to Rangers.

The Italian was secured on the last day of the August transfer window and now gives the Glasgow giants strength in depth, with five recognised strikers now available to coach Alex McLeish.

A club statement was released confirming the deadline-day signing.

"Rangers FC can confirm the signing of Filippo Maniero.

"The structure of the contract allows us to use the player and have him eligible for all competitions."

It is a great move for Maniero, given that the player was without a club following the summer collapse of Torino due to financial concerns.
