LIEGE, Oct 22 (SW) - RSC Anderlecht are still top of the table after a 2-4 win at Standard Liège. The Belgian competition is still very exciting, with RSC Anderlecht (19 points) leading Rapide Wezemaal, DVC Zuid West and OH Leuven (all 18 points). Standard Liège drop down the table to the sixth place.
The Belgian women's football classic started well for RSC Anderlecht. Eventhough Standard Liège had the best of play the first fifteen minutes a counter attack of the women from Brussels resulted in a goal by Sarina Heirbaut, with help of Gerti van Humbeeck and An Puttemans. In the 18th minutes Cècile Carnol scored the deserved equalizer for Standard Liège, after a shot of Maud Coutereels on the post, the ball arrived in the feet of Cécile Carnol who placed it in the back of the net. Then the good attended match turned to Anderlecht, with Gerti van Humbeeck in a deciding role. Just after the half hour mark Van Humbeeck headed in a cornerkick, 1-2. Two minutes later Van Humbeeck lobbed in the 1-3.
In the second half the first quarter was Standards again, which resulted in the fast 2-3 by Aline Zeller. The women from Liège didn't get further then that. In the 67th minute Gerti van Humbeeck took the game definitive for RSC Anderlecht with her third goal.
