SUNDERLAND, Nov 29 (SW) – Reports in England suggest that Sunderland is looking to land Ajax striker Angelos Charisteas in the January transfer window.

The Greek international is being lined up by manager Mick McCarthy, who is desperate to find a solution to the lack of goals at The Stadium of Light this term.

The move will be an initial 6-month loan, with the option of becoming permanent at the end of the season.
